The group disbanded in 2001, and Dorsey left Cash Money Records \u2014 citing a financial dispute with the label\u2019s founders, Bryan \u201cBirdman\u201d Williams and Ronald \u201cSlim\u201d Williams \u2014 to start his own Atlantic imprint, Chopper City. He released half a dozen projects on the label before the 2009 arrest that led to his incarceration.<\/p>\n<p>            On November 3 of that year, Dorsey riding in a car with two other men in his hometown when he was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nola.com\/news\/crime_police\/local-rapper-b-g-arrested-on-gun-charge\/article_f830cb41-5ea4-5105-88e5-867a9f7e4fa1.html\">pulled over<\/a> by New Orleans police. Upon searching the car, NOPD officers found three firearms, two of which were reported stolen. In May 2011, he was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nola.com\/news\/crime_police\/prominent-local-rapper-b-g-indicted-on-gun-charge-obstruction-charges-in-federal-court\/article_6fdfec4a-3034-5b97-b724-fba9bd7e16c4.html\">indicted by a federal grand jury<\/a> for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and conspiracy to obstruct justice. The latter charge was based on Dorsey\u2019s prosecutors\u2019 assertion that he had coerced his co-defendant Demounde Pollard into signing a false affidavit claiming the guns were not Dorsey\u2019s. Dorsey pleaded guilty to his charges that December and was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nola.com\/news\/crime_police\/new-orleans-rapper-b-g-sentenced-to-14-years-on-gun-witness-tampering-charges\/article_24be1347-3c67-5c96-81ba-68d9d854c0ef.html\">sentenced to 14 years in federal prison<\/a> the following July.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            This past weekend, Dorsey celebrated his 43rd birthday with an <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CwvEQ1QuMgV\/\">Instagram post<\/a> revealing his imminent release. \u201cAfter 12 winters and 13 summers, I see the end zone,\u201d the post\u2019s caption reads. \u201cIt\u2019s my last #Birthday being buried alive.
