Entrepreneur and Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy called the indictment of Hunter Biden on gun charges Thursday a \u201csmokescreen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t fall for it,\u201d Ramaswamy posted<\/a> on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter<\/a>. \u201cThis is a fig leaf designed to deflect attention away from the real problem: the Biden family is selling out U.S. foreign policy for their own family\u2019s private financial gain. That\u2019s really what\u2019s wrong, and we must hold politicians in both major political parties when they use our foreign policy to enrich their family members.\u201d<\/p>\n

President Joe Biden\u2019s son now faces three gun-related charges brought by prosecutors in Delaware. According to court filings, the younger Biden was charged with two charges for failing to disclose drug use when purchasing a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm while addicted to a controlled substance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ramaswamy also commented on the recent direction of House committees by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden based on House Republican investigations into the Biden family\u2019s foreign business dealings and Hunter\u2019s prosecution.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe impeachment inquiry initiated by the House against President Biden is a step in the right direction, but the public shouldn\u2019t fall for the trick of diverting attention away from the true problem,\u201d Ramaswamy said in the X post. \u201cIt\u2019s also no accident that today\u2019s indictment comes at a moment when President Biden\u2019s own popularity within the Democratic Party is cratering.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI predict this is the first step for the Democrat Party managerial class to pressure Joe Biden out of the race,\u201d Ramaswamy continued. \u201cBiden will become a sacrificial pawn in service to the deep state that wants to keep power at all costs.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
