Tinashe has collaborated with a variety of artists over the years but there are two in particular she\u2019s not proud of: R. Kelly and Chris Brown.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday (September 12), the \u201c2 On\u201d singer reflected on working with the men who both have been accused of abuse while in a conversation on the Zach Sang Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Both collabs arrived in 2015 in the early days of Tinashe\u2019s career, with the Breezy-assisted \u201cPlayer\u201d coming just before the R. Kelly-assisted \u201cLet\u2019s Be Real Now.\u201d Both tracks were orchestrated by her then-label RCA Records.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou think I wanted to [do those songs]?\u201d she began. \u201cI literally block out that R. Kelly song from my mind. I forget that it even exists. That is so embarrassing. That is so unreal that I even have a song with R. Kelly. That\u2019s so embarrassing. Yes that was labely! And I was so young too. I feel like I did that song when I just signed to that label. I was probably like 20. That was crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cYou [lack a lot of control in that situation.] And especially when it comes to singles like the song with Chris \u2013 that was a song that we all wanted to be this big moment, this big single.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I feel like in [the label\u2019s] mind, they were like, \u2018You need the support.\u2019 And he was like their biggest artist that they had on rhythmic radio at the time. And to me, I was like, \u2018Well this is a pop song. So I really don\u2019t feel like we should put Chris on it. That doesn\u2019t compute to me.\u2019 But I don\u2019t know!\u201d<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Tinashe has spoken about Chris Brown following their collab. In 2016, the singer unfollowed him after he called out Kehlani for posting about her suicide attempt on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Admitting it in an interview shortly afterward, Tinashe said: \u201cIt\u2019s not a big deal to me. I don\u2019t think that follows on Twitter are a big deal. That\u2019s just me.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said that the whole situation with Kehlani was overplayed on social media. \u201cIt was just a lot,\u201d she explained. \u201cI feel like it\u2019s always hard when everything that\u2019s really personal is just on social media in general<\/a>. It\u2019s just a messy situation. It\u2019s not nice.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles native also said that she believed she and Brown were on good terms. \u201cIf I see him, I would love to speak to him,\u201d she said. \u201cI would love for him to reach out. I have absolutely nothing against him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chris didn\u2019t seem to agree, however. \u201cI hope she talked about \u2018HER\u2019 career for most of this interview \u2018WHOISHAE\u2019 TINASHE,\u201d he wrote in the comments section under a post about the interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope they rehearsing for those performances give her credit though, 30 16 year old hobbit face ass. WE WANT MUSIC, WE WANT MUSIC, WE WANT MUSIC!! TEACH ME HOW TO JERK FACE ASS.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
