{"id":592021,"date":"2023-09-21T06:17:27","date_gmt":"2023-09-21T03:17:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/ken-paxton-lashes-out-at-biden-administration-texas-house-over-impeachment\/"},"modified":"2023-09-21T06:17:27","modified_gmt":"2023-09-21T03:17:27","slug":"ken-paxton-lashes-out-at-biden-administration-texas-house-over-impeachment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/ken-paxton-lashes-out-at-biden-administration-texas-house-over-impeachment\/","title":{"rendered":"#Ken Paxton lashes out at Biden administration, Texas House over impeachment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/09\/PaxtonKen_impeachmenttrial.jpg?w=900\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>In his first interview since he was acquitted over the weekend in a historic impeachment trial, Texas Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General<\/a> Ken Paxton (R) lashed out at the Biden administration and the Lone Star State\u2019s House Speaker Dade Phelan (R) over his impeachment and trial.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo you think that the effort to remove you from office really came from the Biden administration?\u201d commentator Tucker Carlson asked Paxton in the interview, posted to the platform X.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI really do,\u201d Paxton said, adding that he thinks \u201cthat\u2019s where it was instigated.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The attorney general alleged that the impeachment was a way to get him \u201cout of the way\u201d after he filed lawsuits against the administration. <\/p>\n<p>Paxton, who had been suspended from his post since the Texas House voted to impeach him earlier this year, was acquitted by a jury of state senators over the weekend on all 16 articles of impeachment he faced.<\/p>\n<p>Paxton had been accused of misusing the powers of his office to aid a friend and campaign donor, but after more than a week of witness testimony before the senators, none of the articles of impeachment received the two-thirds votes required to convict.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Paxton and his allies have decried the proceedings as politically motivated. In a statement after the verdict, he bashed the \u201csham impeachment\u201d and \u201cthe weaponization of the impeachment process to settle political differences.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The attorney general has also taken aim at Republican Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan, and told Carlson that the lawmaker is \u201ccontrolled by the Democrats.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think he particularly has an ideology. He\u2019s like, \u2018I want to stay in power.
