Katsuyuki Konishi<\/strong>, Taku Yashiro<\/strong>, and Takehiro Hasu<\/strong> are joining the cast of Kingdom<\/em> for the anime<\/a>\u2019s fifth season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Konishi is playing the role of Na Ki, while Yashiro and Hasu are playing Rin Gyoku and Zenou, respectively. See the released designs of their characters below:<\/span><\/p>\n

Kingdom<\/em> Season 5 will premiere in Japan on January 6 (effectively January 7 at 12 AM JST). Other new cast additions include Kentarou Itou<\/b>\u00a0as Kan Ki\/Huan Yi,\u00a0Haruka Nagamine<\/b>\u00a0as Koku\u2019ou,\u00a0Kenji Nomura<\/b>\u00a0as Raido, and\u00a0Motoki Sakuma\u00a0<\/b>as Ma Ron\/Mo Lun.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kingdom\u00a0<\/em>is based on the Shueisha-published, Warring States period-set manga by\u00a0Yasuhisa Hara<\/strong>, which began in 2006 and has 69 tankoubon volumes as of July 2023. The first season of the anime premiered in 2012, while the fourth season debuted in 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Crunchyroll describes the anime\u2019s premise as:<\/span><\/p>\n

Shin and Hyou are war-orphans in the kingdom of Qin. They dream of proving themselves on the battlefield until the day Hyou is captured by a minister. The boy manages to escape and return to his village, but he is badly injured. Shin then meets a mysterious youth who bears an eerie resemblance to Hyou\u2014a boy who will one day become emperor!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

As with seasons 3 and 4, Season 5\u2019s staff includes\u00a0Kenichi Imaizumi<\/strong>\u00a0as director,\u00a0Noboru Takagi\u00a0<\/strong>as series<\/a> composer,\u00a0Hisashi Abe\u00a0<\/strong>as character designer,\u00a0Miyuki Abe<\/strong>\u00a0as color designer,\u00a0and\u00a0Hiroyuki Sawano<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0KOHTA YAMAMOTO<\/strong>\u00a0as music composers.\u00a0Pierrot<\/strong>\u00a0and its subsidiary\u00a0St.Signpost<\/strong>\u00a0are again sharing animation production credits.<\/span><\/p>\n

The anime\u2019s cast includes\u00a0Masakazu Morita<\/strong>\u00a0as Shin,\u00a0Jun Fukuyama<\/strong>\u00a0as Ei Sei,\u00a0Rie Kugimiy<\/strong>a as Karyo Ten,\u00a0Youko Hikasa<\/strong>\u00a0as Kyou Kai,\u00a0Susumi Akagi<\/strong>\u00a0as En, and\u00a0Kousuke Toriumi<\/strong>\u00a0as Bihei.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Kingdom\u00a0<\/em>manga, which is serialized in Weekly Young Jump, has also inspired live-action film adaptations, the third of which premiered in Japan on July 28.<\/span><\/p>\n
