Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) said who he votes for as the next Speaker of the House will come down to their views on government spending.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy personal decision will come down to spending. I wanna hear these candidates say, \u2018We are done governing by continuing resolution and omnibus bill,\u2019 because for me, this was never personal,\u201d Gaetz <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HkPlDR9W0Pk\">told<\/a> conservative <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> personality Jason Whitlock Thursday. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>The Florida lawmaker said he likes Reps. Steve Scalise (R-La.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) for the Speakership. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very close to both men,\u201d Gaetz said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He said Scalise gave him a \u201cgiant\u201d rack of Cajun spices, and he admired the Louisiana lawmaker\u2019s comeback after being shot in 2017. Gaetz also called Jordan his \u201cpersonal mentor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really heartened to know we\u2019ve got two amazing choices, two amazing men, and I actually think God\u2019s will will be done here,\u201d Gaetz continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Gaetz led the effort to push McCarthy out of the Speaker\u2019s office. He and seven other Republicans joined House Democrats in a 216-210 vote to oust McCarthy. <\/p>\n<p>Gaetz said Scalise or Jordan would be a \u201cmonumental upgrade\u201d from McCarthy earlier this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI know this \u2014 if it\u2019s Speaker Jim Jordan or Speaker Steve Scalise, there will be very few conservatives in the country who don\u2019t see that as a monumental upgrade over Speaker McCarthy,\u201d Gaetz said during an <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a>max.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Copyright 2023 Nexstar Media Inc.
