\nAl Michaels is on a winning streak. His opponent? Vegetables.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe sports commentator, 78, opened up about his lifelong aversion to the produce in an interview with CNN<\/a>, telling journalist Chris Wallace that he has gone his entire life without \u2014 at least, as Wallace put it, \u201cknowingly\u201d \u2014 eating a single vegetable.\n<\/p>\n

\nIn the excerpt of CNN\u2019s Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace, <\/em>which premiered Friday on Max, Michaels said that his veggie-less diet traces back to his childhood.\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cI was born when my parents were 18,\u201d Michaels told the broadcaster. \u201cSo [my mom] just let me have the run of the course. And I always pushed the vegetables away. To this day, no.\u201d\n<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

\nHe continued, \u201cAnd I guess what I\u2019ve proven, Chris, is that man does not need vegetables to survive.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\nWhen asked if it is possible that, if he actually tried it, Michaels may actually enjoy a \u201cnon-objectionable\u201d vegetable, such as a carrot, the commentator replied, \u201cOh, please.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cNo, that\u2019s an objectionable vegetable,\u201d he continued.\n<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

\nAnd how does he know without ever having tasted the orange produce? \u201cI look at it [and] I just don\u2019t even like the look of it. And I surmise what it might taste like, in terms of the texture of it.\u201d\n<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cIt just doesn\u2019t look like something that would go down well,\u201d he added.\n<\/p>\n
