Latto looks like she\u2019s about to continue her run of heavy-hitting collaborations, teasing that she might have one on the way with pop star Christina Aguilera.<\/p>\n

The ladies teased the song with an elusive exchange on Twitter<\/a> on Tuesday (October 10), revealing just enough information to get fans excited \u2013 while also leaving many questions.<\/p>\n

\u201cShould we tell them? [eyes and mouth covered emojis] @xtina\u201d Latto tweeted, after which Aguilera followed up with: \u201cI think it\u2019s time babe\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Latto has scored big in the collaboration department the last couple of years. In 2022, she nabbed the one and only Mariah Carey for a remix of the Atlanta rapp<\/a>er\u2019s \u201cBig Energy,\u201d which samples Mariah\u2019s \u201990s classic \u201cFantasy\u201d with the late Ol\u2019 Dirty Bastard.<\/p>\n

Over the summer, Latto became the first rapper to top the Billboard Hot 100 in 2023 thanks to her \u201cSeven\u201d collaboration with BTS star Jung Kook.<\/p>\n

It marked the first No. 1 single for both Latto and Jung Kook, with the former\u2019s previous best coming in April 2022 with the aforementioned \u201cBig Energy,\u201d which peaked at No. 3.<\/p>\n

While \u201cBig Energy\u201d ushered in Latto\u2019s mainstream success \u2013 apparently it was initially written for Cardi B.<\/p>\n

Appearing as a guest on the See, The Thing Is\u2026<\/em> podcast earlier this year, songwriter and producer Theron Thomas talked about some of the artists he\u2019s collaborated with and revealed a big secret about Latto\u2019s chart-topper.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wrote it for Cardi B,\u201d he explained. \u201cWe went to Hawaii, I wrote it to that beat, and met Latto, and she was like, \u2018Yeah man, you know, I want to do some crossover shit.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I meet an artist and they tell me they want to do something, it\u2019s like, okay cool. Cardi never got to hear it. We didn\u2019t get it to her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thomas also addressed whether he wrote Latto\u2019s bars, admitting that while he drafted a \u201cshell\u201d of the song, she ended up making it what it is today. \u201cLatto changed [the] verses, the words, [and] made it better. True story.\u201d<\/p>\n

The song was featured on Latto\u2019s 777<\/em> album, which was released in March 2022. It also scored the Atlanta rap star a Grammy nomination for Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 2023 Grammys, as well as a No.3 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. The song also topped the Hot R&B\/Hip-Hop Songs chart, US Mainstream Top 40 chart, and US Rhythmic chart.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
