Drake has been critical of the Grammy Awards in recent years, but he app<\/a>ears to have changed his tune ahead of the 2024 ceremony.<\/p>\n

According to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>, Drake and 21 Savage\u2018s joint album Her Loss<\/em> has been submitted for Album of the Year and Best Rap Album at next year\u2019s Grammys.<\/p>\n

Hits from the project including \u201cRich Flex\u201d and \u201cSpin Bout U\u201d have also been submitted for categories like Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, among others.<\/p>\n

However, it\u2019s unclear if Drake himself made the submissions. THR<\/em> notes that Academy members \u2014 such as songwriters, producers and engineers \u2014 have the authority to submit material that they worked on for consideration.<\/p>\n

Drizzy previously withdrew his two nominations at the 2022 Grammys and downplayed the Recording Academy\u2019s importance while accepting the Best Rap Song award for \u201cGod\u2019s Plan\u201d in 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a business where sometimes it\u2019s up to a bunch of people who might not understand what a mixed-race kid from Canada has to say or a fly Spanish girl from New York or anybody else, or a brother from Houston right there, my brother Travis [Scott],\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut my point is you\u2019ve already won if you have people singing your songs word for word, if you\u2019re a hero in your hometown.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 6 God didn\u2019t submit any of his solo material last year, but still ended up taking home silverware thanks to his appearance on Future\u2019s \u201cWait For U,\u201d which won Best Melodic Rap Performance.<\/p>\n

He also aired his grievances with the Grammys in 2020 when The Weeknd\u2018s chart-topping, multi-platinum After Hours<\/em> album was snubbed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after,\u201d he wrote on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The timing of Drake\u2019s Grammys submissions is fitting considering he just recently expressed on his new album For All the Dogs<\/em> that he\u2019s still bitter about Esperanza Spalding winning Best New Artist over him in 2011.<\/p>\n

He also rapped about using one of his Grammy Awards as doorstop on the J. Cole-assisted \u201cFirst Person Shooter\u201d \u2014 and later backed up his claim by posting a photo of it on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old has won five Grammys in his decorated career, although he\u2019s been nominated 51 times to date.<\/p>\n

There could be other opportunities for Drake to pick up nominations and wins in 2024, with tracks he\u2019s appeared on such as Travis Scott\u2019s \u201cMeltdown,\u201d Young Thug\u2019s \u201cOh U Went\u201d and J Hus\u2019 \u201cWho Told You\u201d also being submitted for consideration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
