\n Though she\u2019d dreamed of owning a Spanish Revival home, there was something about the boxy, modern house that Anonymous Content manager Meredith Rothman couldn\u2019t shake. Maybe it was the floor-to-ceiling windows. Or the abundance of natural light. Or the fact that it was tucked neatly into a canyon in Beverly Hills, conjuring up memories of her childhood home in Bel Air. Rothman asked interior designer Lauren Waters<\/a> for her thoughts. \u201cI assured her it was a wonderful blank canvas for intriguing furniture and great art,\u201d says Waters.<\/p>\n

\n That advice sealed the deal for Rothman, who tasked Waters with transforming the 2,500-square-foot spec house into a home that would serve as space to unwind, enable her to host the occasional soiree and showcase her burgeoning art collection, which includes works by Analia Saban and John Baldessari, as well as a charcoal drawing by her grandmother Luddie Waters, who was Kim Novak\u2019s voice coach in Vertigo<\/em>. \u201cI believe it\u2019s important to collect artists I connect with,\u201d says Rothman.<\/p>\n

\n The talent manager \u2014 who app<\/a>eared on THR<\/em>\u2019s Next Gen 2019 list \u2014 has a roster that reads like a who\u2019s who of young Hollywood and includes actors KiKi Layne, Nicholas Galitzine, Danny Ramirez, Havana Rose Liu, and Dario Yazbeck Bernal, and singer-actress Sky Ferreira, as well as director Sophie Hyde, writer Bilal Baig, and showrunner Lisa Ambjorn. Her philosophy in business? \u201cI understand the vulnerability that creatives face and I want to support that,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s a very raw, sensitive existence.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Inside Rothman\u2019s home, the serene top-floor primary bedroom is dominated by a custom wall-to-wall upholstered headboard and windows that frame the lush hillside and the property\u2019s 200-year-old oak tree. \u201cYou almost feel like you\u2019re in a tree house,\u201d says Waters. A bench by Lulu and Georgia, covered in a rust velvet, provides the room\u2019s sole splash of color. \u201cI had wanted more oranges and reds, and Lauren insisted we stick with neutrals,\u201d Rothman recalls. \u201cShe must be right because I definitely sleep better.\u201d A second bedroom on that floor has been turned into a gym.<\/p>\n

\n On the main level, a clunky fireplace wall \u2014 which Waters recalls as \u201cone of those electric fireplaces that has like crystals in it and you can change the colors and you feel like you\u2019re in Las Vegas\u201d \u2014 was turned into an open bookcase that divides the dining space from the living room. \u201cIt\u2019s perfect for displaying dishes and books that I love,\u201d plus other objects, says Rothman, pointing out a sculpture by Lauren Tsai and ceramics by Cody Hoyt. In the kitchen, updated finishes \u2014 including brass hardware from Rejuvenation and cabinets washed in Farrow & Ball\u2019s Railings hue, a soft black with blue undertones \u2014 encourage Rothman\u2019s culinary experiments.<\/p>\n

\n The living room\u2019s sofa, a custom piece inspired by Adrian Pearsall\u2019s cloud design, is upholstered in a cream boucl\u00e9 and dotted with ball pillows fabricated from vintage silks. It\u2019s joined by furnishings including a vintage standing lamp from France and a Charlotte\u202fPerriand stool. Baldessari\u2019s screenprint Two Sunsets (One With Square Blue Moon) <\/em>hangs above a vintage woodworking table, discovered at Amsterdam Modern, that serves as a credenza. \n Surprisingly, Rothman vetoed a TV in the living room. \u201cSince I\u2019m always plugged in, I wanted to create a space that felt more meditative, where I can have conversations and spend time connecting,\u201d she says. Instead, the TV was relegated to the home\u2019s ADU, where a sprawling custom sectional, covered in an Erica Shamrock rust velvet, is the setting for the series<\/a>- and movie-watching marathons that Rothman and her husband, Jamie Iovine, co-founder of online shopping platform NTWRK, enjoy.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt\u2019s funny,\u201d says Rothman. \u201cI never thought I\u2019d be living in a modern home, but right now I can\u2019t imagine any place more perfect.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
