Iran and Hamas pried Pandora\u2019s Box wide open on Oct. 7\u00a0by unleashing a heinous wave of rocket attacks and assaults on Israeli cities and villages. This was likely done with Russian President Vladimir Putin\u2019s tacit app<\/a>roval, if not\u00a0direction and planning. What had been chiefly a localized threat to Jerusalem \u2013 Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon and Syrian and Iranian troops along the Golan Heights \u2013 is now an existential threat to the state of Israel on a regional and global scale.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hamas\u2019s goal<\/a>, stated\u00a0in its founding covenant, is the destruction of Israel, and its inexorable pursuit of an Israeli Armageddon must now be taken at face value by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his national unity government. Especially after the reign of terror Mohammed Deif, Hamas\u2019s military commander, unleashed in\u00a0Kfar Aza<\/a>,\u00a0Sderot<\/a> and at a\u00a0music festival<\/a>\u00a0on a scale that the Jewish people had not witnessed since the\u00a0end of the Holocaust<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
