{"id":595081,"date":"2023-10-21T05:46:50","date_gmt":"2023-10-21T02:46:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/cohen-expected-to-testify-next-week-in-trumps-ny-fraud-trial-after-medical-delay\/"},"modified":"2023-10-21T05:46:50","modified_gmt":"2023-10-21T02:46:50","slug":"cohen-expected-to-testify-next-week-in-trumps-ny-fraud-trial-after-medical-delay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/cohen-expected-to-testify-next-week-in-trumps-ny-fraud-trial-after-medical-delay\/","title":{"rendered":"#Cohen expected to testify next week in Trump\u2019s NY fraud trial after medical delay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/09\/Cohen-2023.png?w=900\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Former President Trump\u2019s ex-lawyer Michael Cohen announced Friday he would return to New York next week to testify in the civil fraud trial after a medical delay.<\/p>\n<p>Cohen confirmed the move in a post on Meta\u2019s Threads \u2013 including a picture generated by artificial intelligence (AI), of him and the Trump with \u201cLet\u2019s get you back to your cell.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>His initial court <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance was delayed last week after it was reported that he had a medical issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt appears that I will be reunited with my old client @realDonaldTrump when I testify this Tuesday, October 24<sup>th<\/sup> at the @NewYorkStateAG civil fraud trial,\u201d<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MichaelCohen212\/status\/1715407822370844736?s=20\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MichaelCohen212\/status\/1715407822370844736?s=20\"> Cohen wrote  in the post.<\/a> \u201cSee you there!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A judge late last month ruled Trump and his businesses committed fraud by falsely inflating and deflating the value of its assets in order to lower taxes and receive better insurance coverage.<\/p>\n<p>A key witness in the case, Cohen has argued the fraud trial would likely spell the end of Trump\u2019s business empire in the sate. In an interview earlier this month, Cohen claimed that everything that happened at the Trump Organization was with the \u201cdirection of, and ultimately signed off by, Donald J. Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He previously testified in 2019, alleging his former boss artificially inflated his wealth. <\/p>\n<p>In September, Cohen said that he was concerned to testify in Trump\u2019s case, citing fears of online attacks from the 2024 presidential candidate\u2019s supporters. If it weren\u2019t for the subpoena, he said he considered not even showing up.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t have to put my life on the line simply because Donald Trump cannot control himself and the courts are not controlling him,\u201d he said at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Cohen, who at one time was one of Trump\u2019s closest allies, famously said that he would take a bullet for his then-boss.
