(PIMCO), predicted that the United States will be in a recession by the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Gross said that he will buy futures that are connected to the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR). The Federal Reserve of New York\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorkfed.org\/markets\/reference-rates\/sofr\">defines the SOFR<\/a>\u00a0as \u201ca broad measure of the cost of borrowing cash overnight collateralized by Treasury securities.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cRegional bank carnage and recent rise in auto delinquencies to long-term historical highs indicate U.S. economy slowing significantly. Recession in 4th quarter,\u201d he\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/real_bill_gross\/status\/1716472972113051665\">wrote on X<\/a>, the platform formerly known as <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that the \u201cbest investments\u201d right now are equity arbitrages.<\/p>\n<p>Inflation\u00a0held steady in September\u00a0as the Federal Reserve considers whether to hike up interest rates again. Consumer prices rose 0.4 percent in September and 3.7 percent annually, according to data released earlier this month by the Labor Department.<\/p>\n<p>The Fed\u00a0announced last month\u00a0that it will keep the bank\u2019s baseline borrowing costs at a range of 5.25 percent to 5.5 percent. The Fed hiked those rates in July \u2014\u00a0a 22-year high\u00a0\u2014 after a brief pause in June.<\/p>\n<p>Fed Chairman\u00a0Jerome Powell\u00a0warned in prepared remarks\u00a0last week that \u201cthe path is likely to be bumpy and take some time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInflation is still too high, and a few months of good data are only the beginning of what it will take to build confidence that inflation is moving down sustainably toward our goal,\u201d Powell said in prepared remarks last week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Copyright 2023 Nexstar Media Inc.
