{"id":595422,"date":"2023-10-25T01:43:46","date_gmt":"2023-10-24T22:43:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/meadows-granted-immunity-deal-in-election-interference-case-abc-news\/"},"modified":"2023-10-25T01:43:46","modified_gmt":"2023-10-24T22:43:46","slug":"meadows-granted-immunity-deal-in-election-interference-case-abc-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/meadows-granted-immunity-deal-in-election-interference-case-abc-news\/","title":{"rendered":"#Meadows granted immunity deal in election interference case: ABC News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/08\/meadowsmark_091222getty_meadows.jpg?w=900\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Former Trump\u00a0White House\u00a0chief of staff Mark Meadows secured an immunity deal with special counsel Jack Smith in order to testify before a grand jury in the election interference case, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/amp\/US\/chief-staff-mark-meadows-granted-immunity-tells-special\/story?id=104231281\">ABC News\u00a0reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meadows testified before a grand jury empaneled\u00a0to hear evidence in the case on at least three separate occasions, the outlet reported, doing so after being granted immunity.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>The Hill has reached out to Meadows\u2019s attorney for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meadows reportedly told the grand jury that after former President Trump\u2019s election loss, he repeatedly told the him that his claims of widespread fraud were baseless.<\/p>\n<p>That testimony would counter a claim Trump has repeated since losing the election \u2014 and that his lawyers defended as recently as Monday night.<\/p>\n<p>Meadows\u00a0also told investigators that Trump was being \u201cdishonest\u201d with voters when he proclaimed victory on election night.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>That aligns with the testimony of Trump campaign staff who told the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack that they cautioned the former president against claiming he had won.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> of Meadows\u2019s cooperation comes after he was not included in the federal criminal indictment charging Trump\u00a0with\u00a0four counts for his conduct in seeking to block the transfer of power that culminated in\u00a0the\u00a0Jan. 6\u00a0Capitol riot.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>He was also not listed as an unindicted co-conspirator along with six others, fueling speculation that Meadows may have been granted immunity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He has, however, been charged in a sweeping election interference case in Georgia.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The special counsel\u2019s office Tuesday declined to comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Meadows <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to have told Trump multiple times that he had lost the election.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to ABC, in mid-December Meadows informed Trump that his then-attorney Rudy Giuliani had failed to find any evidence to back the campaign\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n<p>And after the Supreme Court denied his election challenge that month, Trump told Meadows something to the effect of, \u201cSo that\u2019s it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Copyright 2023 Nexstar <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Media<\/a> Inc.
