{"id":595741,"date":"2023-10-28T00:12:11","date_gmt":"2023-10-27T21:12:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/cornel-wests-campaign-manager-says-hes-leaving-job\/"},"modified":"2023-10-28T00:12:11","modified_gmt":"2023-10-27T21:12:11","slug":"cornel-wests-campaign-manager-says-hes-leaving-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/cornel-wests-campaign-manager-says-hes-leaving-job\/","title":{"rendered":"#Cornel West\u2019s campaign manager says he\u2019s leaving job"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/10\/AP23199759951290-e1697833312247.jpg?w=900\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Presidential candidate Cornel West\u2019s campaign manager said he has departed the team, a high-level shakeup for the Democrat-turned-independent\u2019s insurgent bid.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Peter Daou, a progressive strategist and ally of West, announced on X, the website formerly known as <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a>, that he is experiencing \u201cextreme stress\u201d after working on two separate White House campaigns during the 2024 cycle and personal trauma from the Israel-Palestine tumult.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Daou previously worked for Marianne Williamson\u2019s Democratic primary campaign against President Biden.<\/p>\n<p>He cited experiencing ongoing emotional distress in the aftermath of Hamas\u2019s attack on Israel, the still-unfolding conflict in Gaza and the administration\u2019s response.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m soul-tired of human violence and brutality. I\u2019m soul-tired of the U.S. enabling and supporting it,\u201d he wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Daou also referenced his Lebanese upbringing as adding a personal element to the tragic situation on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy PTSD from growing up in Beirut under constant bombardment is being triggered in a big way by this #genocide,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI\u2019m going to take time off and pray on everything.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The left-wing campaign veteran has been critical of Biden and the nature of the United States\u2019 two-party electoral system.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>He stressed that his attitude toward West, who changed to an independent earlier this month, has not changed and that his challenge of the establishment class remains a worthy pursuit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, I burnt out and need rest from the extreme stress of two campaigns in one cycle. All while dealing with family health challenges and PTSD from my childhood in a war zones,\u201d he wrote on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut my mission of challenging the duopoly continues.
