{"id":595935,"date":"2023-10-27T14:02:17","date_gmt":"2023-10-27T11:02:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/dutch-solar-ev-completes-1000km-test-drive-through-the-desert\/"},"modified":"2023-10-27T14:02:17","modified_gmt":"2023-10-27T11:02:17","slug":"dutch-solar-ev-completes-1000km-test-drive-through-the-desert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/dutch-solar-ev-completes-1000km-test-drive-through-the-desert\/","title":{"rendered":"#Dutch solar EV completes 1,000km test drive through the desert"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"article-main-content\">\n                            <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An off-road solar car built by a team of Dutch students has successfully traversed 1,000km of rugged desert terrain in North Africa \u2014 opening up possibilities for the broader rollout of solar-powered EVs in areas with limited charging infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Eindhoven University of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Technology<\/a> (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TU\/e)<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> students drove the SUV, which doubles as a small campervan, from Tangier in northern Morocco across <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dry riverbeds, steep mountain passes, and loose sand before arriving at the Sahara desert three days later.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt was an incredible <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a> with a positive ending. Sign up now!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stella Terra has a top speed of 145kph, weighs only 1,200kg, and has a range of 630km on a sunny day. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In cloudy conditions, the team estimates a range reduction of 50km.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite much uncertainty due to the novelty of the technology, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the solar car performed \u201cabove expectations\u201d during the test drive, using 30% less energy than the team predicted.
