\nRobert De Niro returned to the witness stand to give more explosive testimony in the civil trial concerning his former assistant Graham Chase Robinson.\n<\/p>\n

\nAt the New York City federal courthouse on Tuesday, the 80-year-old actor raised his voice repeatedly while on the stand for the second day of a trial to resolve lawsuits between De Niro\u2019s company Canal Productions and his ex-assistant.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

\nQuestioned by Robinson\u2019s attorney Andrew Macurdy about whether, in the 11 years of her employment at the company, De Niro called her names, the Killers of the Flower Moon <\/em>star admitted that he had.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cYeah, fine, I berated her,\u201d the Oscar winner testified in response to inquiries about a time Robinson didn\u2019t wake him in time for an important meeting. He then agreed he might have called her \u201cpetulant,\u201d \u201csnippy\u201d and a \u201cf——g spoiled brat.\u201d\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cI\u2019ve raised my voice,\u201d stated De Niro. \u201cI don\u2019t yell. You wanna dispute that? That\u2019s one thing I don\u2019t do.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\nIn 2019 after Robinson had left her position at Canal Productions as Vice President for Production and Finance, the company filed a $6 million lawsuit against her. They alleged that she excessively binge-watched Netflix shows while working, charged personal meals and groceries to the company\u2019s credit card and inapp<\/a>ropriately used \u201cher employer\u2019s fund for her personal gain\u201d including De Niro\u2019s frequent flyer airline miles.<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

\nIn her $12 million counter-lawsuit, Robinson alleged that De Niro and Canal Productions had violated the New York City Human Rights Law, claiming that the actor directed sexist comments at her, assigned her “stereotypically female job duties that were inconsistent with her job title,” and paid her less than male employee Dan Harvey<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

\nDuring his testimony, De Niro, who has employed Harvey as his personal trainer during movies<\/a> dating back to 1991, addressed the latter point by asking, \u201cWhat does Dan Harvey have to do with her?\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\nHe continued, \u201cGod knows why she felt like she should make the same [salary]. Dan Harvey has been here for 40 years. He has been with me, left his family, never complained. She is jealous of him?\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\nOf the alleged gender-discriminating pay disparity, he added, \u201cGive me a break with that nonsense\u2026 For her to use that is so ridiculous.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\nWhen asked about instances when, during her employment, De Niro allegedly asked Robinson to scratch his itching back, the Raging Bull<\/em> actor exclaimed: \u201cEvery little thing she\u2019s trying to get me on is nonsense! Shame on you, Chase Robinson.\u201d He then apologized for the outburst.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\nThe New York-set trial will continue to feature emails and text exchanges between De Niro and his girlfriend Tiffany Chen. The two welcomed a daughter together \u2014 Gia Virginia Chen De Niro, his seventh child \u2014 in May.\n<\/p>\n

\nIn earlier testimony, De Niro had asserted that Chen \u201cmight have been saying\u201d disrespectful things about Robinson. \u201cBut she was annoyed because Robinson was disrespectful to her. Period. And that is unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n
