They believe that the boat-shaped site may hold the ruins of the legendary Noah\u2019s Ark.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"3\" class=\"css-106f026 et3p2gv0\">The Biblical account of Noah tells of God instructing Noah to build a giant ark to spare his family and pairs of animals from an impending flood meant to destroy the evil and wickedness running rampant on Earth. Noah\u2019s Ark is said to have come to rest on the mountains of Ararat following a 150-day flood about 5,000 years ago. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"4\" class=\"css-106f026 et3p2gv0\">Researchers now believe they\u2019ve found evidence of human activity near the boat-shaped formation in the mountains from between 5500 and 3000 BC. <\/p>\n<hr data-node-id=\"6\" class=\"css-18pb4rg et3p2gv0\">\n<hr data-node-id=\"8\" class=\"css-18pb4rg et3p2gv0\">\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"9\" class=\"css-106f026 et3p2gv0\">Faruk Kaya, AICU vice rector professor, says that analyzing rocks and soil from the uniquely shaped area on the mountain shows human activity in the region, timed to the years following the flood in the legend of Noah\u2019s Ark. \u201cIn terms of dating, it is stated that there was life in this region as well,\u201d Kaya says, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sciencetech\/article-12681313\/Has-Noahs-Ark-Archaeologists-reveal-ruins-Turkeys-boat-shaped-mound-date-5-000-years-ago-period-Biblical-flood.html\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sciencetech\/article-12681313\/Has-Noahs-Ark-Archaeologists-reveal-ruins-Turkeys-boat-shaped-mound-date-5-000-years-ago-period-Biblical-flood.html\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"according\" class=\"body-link css-1ijse5q et3p2gv0\">according<\/a> to <em>The Daily Mail<\/em>. \u201cThis was revealed in the laboratory results.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"10\" class=\"css-106f026 et3p2gv0\">Human activity, however, does not a Biblical account prove. The Durupinar formation has been put forth as a potential ark resting place for many years, and has received extensive attention from those hoping to find Noah\u2019s Ark. Further exploration led the team to take the rock and soil samples from the country\u2019s highest peaks for laboratory analysis. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"18\" class=\"css-106f026 et3p2gv0\">The story of God, Noah, his family, the animals in his care, and Noah\u2019s Ark has caused much debate for centuries.
