\n Dating apps, meet elections.<\/p>\n

Apps including OkCupid, Tinder and Bumble are encouraging users to register to vote while they search for potential dates, according to recent reports.<\/p>\n

OkCupid released a new \u201cVoter 2020\u201d badge this week that people can include in their profiles to show they\u2019re registered to vote, The Hill reported on Tuesday. Bumble has released a similar badge.<\/p>\n

Both platforms have also partnered with organizations to help users register to vote.<\/p>\n

According to Bumble, the company is partnering with I Am a Voter, a public awareness campaign that helps people register to vote.<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t know who needs to hear this, but you\u2019ll get SO MANY more matches if you let them know you\u2019re a registered voter.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, OkCupid \u2014 owned by Match Group \u2014 is working with When We All Vote \u2014 an initiative co-founded by Michelle Obama, Tom Hanks and other celebrities \u2014 to help its users register to vote.<\/p>\n

The Hill reported that OkCupid will ask its users if they are registered to vote in the 2020 election and if they answer \u201cno,\u201d they\u2019ll be redirected to a page where they can register.<\/p>\n

Similarly, Tinder \u2014 also owned by Match Group \u2014 released a promotional page in its app offering users to swipe right to sign up to register to vote last month.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow more than ever, daters want to connect with people who share their values,\u201d Ariel Charytan, OkCupid\u2019s CEO said, according to The Hill. \u201cOver the past few years, people on OkCupid have become more vocal about today\u2019s leading issues \u2014 from climate change to voting rights.\u201d<\/p>\n
