Ken Buck\u2019s (R-Colo.) decision to leave Congress and his departing remark that \u201ctoo many Republican leaders are lying to America, claiming that the 2020 election was stolen,\u201d Scalise avoided responding directly, in the interview on ABC News\u2019s \u201cThis Week.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWell, Ken, I\u2019ve worked with on a number of issues, including getting spending under control, getting our economy back on track. He\u2019s talked about that 2020 election as well. You and I have, I think, have talked about that too,\u201d Scalise said. \u201cAt the end of the day, getting our country back on track is our focus. And that\u2019s what we\u2019re focused on right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan you say unequivocally the 2020 election was not stolen?\u201d Stephanopoulos asked Scalise, after the congressman detailed several other legislative priorities for the party.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Scalise dodged the question.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I\u2019ve told you, there are states that didn\u2019t follow their laws. That is what the state constitution \u2013 the U.S. Constitution requires,\u201d he said. \u201cEvery state ought to follow the laws that are on their books. That\u2019s what the U.S. Constitution says.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s not what I asked,\u201d Stephanopoulos retorted. \u201cI said, can you say unequivocally that the 2020 election was not stolen?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook, Joe Biden\u2019s president. I know you and others want to talk about 2020. We\u2019re focused on the future. We\u2019ve talked about 2020 a lot. We\u2019re talking about how to get our country back on track, how to get our economy moving, how to stand up to the bad actors around the world,\u201d Scalise said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cCongressman, I know that Joe Biden is president. I\u2019m asking you a different question. Can you say unequivocally that the 2020 election was not stolen?\u201d Stephanopoulos said, continuing to press him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Scalise dodged again, citing certain states that he claimed \u201cdidn\u2019t follow the laws that are on their books, which is what the U.S. Constitution says they have to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scalise\u2019s argument is a reiteration of a frequent concern predominantly among voters of former President Trump. They argued that the changes made during the pandemic to allow for mail-in ballots and other measures encouraging voter participation somehow violated state law \u2013 even though the changes were largely passed through the legislature or other legal procedure.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cSo you, so you just refuse to say unequivocally that the 2020 election was not stolen?\u201d Stephanopoulos said again.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou want to keep rehashing 2020. We\u2019re talking about the future,\u201d Scalise said, as the two spoke over each other.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just want an answer to the question, yes or no?\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr4_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve asked \u2013 look, we\u2019ve talked about this before. But, again, will you acknowledge that there were states that didn\u2019t follow the actual state legislative enacted laws on their book, which the U.S. Constitution says they\u2019re supposed to do?\u201d Scalise said, again refusing to answer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know that every court that looked at whether the election was stolen said it wasn\u2019t, rejected those claims. And I asked you a very, very simple question. Now I\u2019ve asked it, I think, the fifth time that you can\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear to answer.
