\n Taylor Swift has done it again.<\/p>\n

\n Her new album 1989 (Taylor\u2019s Version)<\/em>, a rerecording of her 1989<\/em> album, is now the top-selling album in America for 2023 in under one week. The album has topped the Billboard 200, along with the vinyl albums and streaming albums charts this week, with over 1.6 million units in the U.S. and over 3.5 million globally. The latter achievement makes her the first artist to score six No. 1 album debuts with over 1 million units sold in history.<\/p>\n

\n 1989 (Taylor\u2019s Version)<\/em>\u00a0has now surpassed the 2014 first-week sales of\u00a01989<\/em>, making it the first Taylor Version<\/em> to net a bigger debut than the original. <\/p>\n

\n Swift\u2019s latest earlier this week nabbed her the record for the\u00a0most-streamed Spotify album\u00a0in a single day, a title she previously held with her\u00a02022 album\u00a0Midnights<\/em>,\u00a0<\/em>which featured all new songs, including hits like \u201cAnti-Hero,\u201d \u201cKarma\u201d and \u201cBejeweled.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n 1989 (Taylor\u2019s Version)\u00a0<\/em>marks the singer-songwriter\u2019s\u00a0fourth rerelease of her earlier albums, following Scooter Braun acquiring Big Machine Records and taking control of her masters. She previously dropped\u00a0Fearless (Taylor\u2019s Version)<\/em>,\u00a0Red (Taylor\u2019s Version)<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Speak Now (Taylor\u2019s Version).<\/em> With each successive\u00a0Taylor\u2019s Version<\/em> release, Swift has netted bigger debuts.<\/p>\n

\n Her newest rerelease includes all songs from the original album, as well as five new vault tracks, which are \u201cIs It Over Now?,\u201d \u201cSay Don\u2019t Go,\u201d \u201cNow That We Don\u2019t Talk,\u201d \u201cSuburban Legends\u201d and \u201cSlut!\u201d <\/p>\n

\n 1989<\/em>\u00a0was originally released in 2014 and included hit songs \u201cShake It Off,\u201d \u201cBad Blood,\u201d \u201cWildest Dreams,\u201d \u201cBlank Space\u201d and \u201cStyle.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Swift announced\u00a0198<\/em>9\u00a0as the next\u00a0Taylor\u2019s Version<\/em>\u00a0during closing night of The Eras Tour in Los Angeles in August. Taylor Swift<\/em>\u00a0(2006) and\u00a0Reputation<\/em>\u00a0(2017)\u00a0are the two albums remaining from her catalog that have yet to get rerecorded versions.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
