\n Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday got personal in attacking President Trump \u2014 going so far as to ask if his sister Maryanne Trump is mentally competent \u2014 before daring the president to bet with him over whether he can make a competitive run at New York on Election Day.<\/p>\n

The Democrat raged in a press call the morning after Trump signed a memo that seeks to pull funds from New York City and other cities that allow \u201clawlessness.\u201d<\/p>\n

He dared Trump to bet money on whether he will carry New York state in November, noting Trump\u2019s remarks to The Post last month that he was putting the state \u201cin play\u201d against Democratic candidate Joe Biden.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhatever he would like to wager on his winning New York, I would take him up on it,\u201d Cuomo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo if he is serious, the old expression put your money where your mouth is. How much do you want to wager you\u2019re going to win New York? You\u2019re going to lose New York. Why? Because those who know the president the best like him the least.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also cited alleged criticism of Trump by his sister, a retired federal judge, as reported in recent book by estranged niece Mary Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cEither the sister is mentally not competent, or she\u2019s accurate. I don\u2019t hear anyone trying to overturn her decisions based on a lack of mental competence,\u201d Cuomo said.<\/p>\n

Maryanne Trump, 83, was secretly recorded by her niece saying, among other things, that \u201cDonald\u2019s out for Donald.\u201d<\/p>\n

The governor lashed out at Trump in an escalating fight between the leaders. On Wednesday night, Cuomo all but threatened Trump\u2019s safety in response to the city-defunding memo, which was first reported by The Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe better have an army if he thinks he\u2019s gonna walk down the street in New York,\u201d Cuomo said late Wednesday. \u201cHe can\u2019t have enough bodyguards to walk through New York City.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump returned fire on Thursday morning with a pair of tweets slamming Cuomo for mismanaging the coronavirus pandemic by forcing nursing to accept COVID-19-positive patients. Cuomo wrote a book on his management of the crisis and recently gave a self-congratulatory speech at the Democratic National Convention.<\/p>\n

\u201cGovernors Andrew Cuomo of New York has the worst record on death and China Virus. 11,000 people alone died in Nursing Homes because of his incompetence!\u201d Trump wrote.<\/p>\n

On the press call Thursday, Cuomo mocked \u201cCommander Trump\u201d for referring to the pandemic as a war.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe president, as a commander in chief has been an abysmal failure in the war,\u201d Cuomo said. \u201cIf this was a actual war, he could be court-martialed for dereliction of duty.\u201d<\/p>\n

The governor argued that Trump\u2019s early March Europe travel<\/a> ban didn\u2019t come early enough. He said Trump was \u201cnegligent,\u201d not him.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
