\n VH1 is planning to honor the life and legacy of Matthew Perry, who died Oct. 28 at age 54, with an exclusive Entertainment Tonight<\/em> news<\/a> special.<\/p>\n

\n VH1 & ET Present Matthew Perry: Life and Legacy<\/em> is set to air Nov. 7, at 7:30\u00a0p.m. ET\/PT\u00a0on\u00a0VH1, and encore Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. ET\/PT.<\/p>\n

\n The tribute special will feature archival footage and never-before-seen interviews of Perry\u00a0at various stages of his life, reflecting on his career. The special will cull from set visits by Entertainment Tonight, <\/em>which was on the set of all of Perry\u2019s projects, and will share stories about his best moments playing Chandler Bing on Friends<\/em>. <\/p>\n

\n It also will recount some \u201cdefinitive moments in his life,\u201d including his friendship with his co-stars and his work helping others struggling with addiction, and feature new interviews with his former co-stars and the close friends he spent his final days with.<\/p>\n

\n In addition to\u00a0Friends<\/em>, Perry also starred in the feature films\u00a0The Whole Nine Yards\u00a0<\/em>and its sequel, along with\u00a0Fools Rush In<\/em>, Almost Heroes<\/em>, Three to Tango\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Serving Sara<\/em>,\u00a0along with the TV series<\/a>\u00a0Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip<\/a>, Mr. Sunshine\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Go On.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n \u201cMatthew Perry was a beloved and incredibly gifted movie and TV star,\u201d said Scott Mills, president and CEO, BET Media<\/a> Group, whose portfolio of brands includes VH1. \u201cWe are deeply saddened by the news of his passing. Matthew\u2019s versatility in numerous starring roles and cutting-edge comedy helped him become a household name. We join so many in celebration of his life, and we send our condolences to his family and all his\u00a0Friends\u00a0around the globe.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Perry was discovered unresponsive in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home around 4 p.m. Oct. 28, law enforcement sources\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0The Los Angeles Times.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n On Oct. 29, the coroner\u2019s office said that Perry\u2019s cause of death had been \u201cdeferred.\u201d That typically means that an autopsy has been completed, but the examiner needs more time and additional investigation into the death. An initial toxicology report found no fentanyl or methamphetamine in his system at the time of his death.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
