Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) on Wednesday said he feels \u201csorry\u201d for former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) after the California Republican allegedly elbowed him in a Capitol hallway the previous day. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sure right after he [McCarthy] did it, he regretted it,\u201d Burchett said in an interview with \u201cCNN This Morning.\u201d \u201cI\u2019ve moved on, I\u2019ve got no vengeance towards him, I prayed for him this morning, as a matter of fact, because I know he\u2019s hurting.\u201d <\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just a sad commentary on his life. I\u2019m sorry for him. I really am. I feel sorry for him,\u201d Burchett continued.<\/p>\n<p>Burchett on Tuesday claimed McCarthy deliberately elbowed him in the back in a Capitol hallway when the Tennessee Republican was talking with reporters. Burchett then called after McCarthy and chased after him, but the former House leader kept walking.<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy later on Tuesday denied elbowing the congressman, telling reporters, \u201cI guess our elbows hit as I walked by. If I would hit somebody, they would know I hit them.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Asked by CNN how the two lawmakers got to this point, Burchett said, \u201cI have no idea. It\u2019s really a bizarre thing that just h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Burchett was one of the eight Republicans who joined all House Democrats in voting to oust McCarthy from the top spot last month. <\/p>\n<p>Pressed over if he would like to see McCarthy resign, Burchett said, \u201cI don\u2019t care what he does, really it doesn\u2019t matter. The sooner he leaves, the sooner he will be making seven figures being a lobbyist, let\u2019s be honest. He\u2019s not going back to Bakersfield, [Calif].\u201d <\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019ll be lobbying up here and making big money if he feels like he doesn\u2019t have a shot back to the Speakership,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n<p>McCarthy has said he plans to run re-election despite losing the gavel.
