Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) declared a victory after a New York <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eals court temporarily lifted a gag order barring former President Trump and his attorneys from talking about the trial judge\u2019s staff in his New York civil fraud case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am pleased to see that after my ethics complaint to the New York Commission on Judicial Conduct against Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron, an appellate court has lifted the unconstitutional gag order against President Trump,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EliseStefanik\/status\/1725280184725602647?s=20\">Stefanik\u2019s statement said<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>The court\u2019s order follows an emergency lawsuit filed Wednesday by Trump\u2019s legal team, who claimed the gag orders \u201ccast serious doubt\u201d on Engoron\u2019s ability to serve as an \u201cimpartial finder of fact\u201d when overseeing Trump\u2019s case.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s team requested an interim stay of Engoron\u2019s gag orders and the sanctions that resulted from his violation of them. The orders stemmed from an online attack the former president made on the judge\u2019s principal law clerk.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has made several comments about the clerk, posting information personally identifying her online. Engoron has fined Trump $15,000 for various violations and unexpectedly called the former president to the witness stand to explain himself over a comment he made.<\/p>\n<p>In the decision Thursday, the appeals judge expressed concern that the gag orders restricted Trump\u2019s free speech, meaning he can now comment freely on Engoron\u2019s staff while the appeals process happens.<\/p>\n<p>Stefanik, a staunch supporter of the former president, filed a judicial ethics complaint last week against Engoron, claiming the judge has shown \u201cinappropriate bias and judicial intemperance\u201d toward the former president and called for him to resign.<\/p>\n<p>In her statement, Stefanik said, \u201cWe must fight to protect all defendants\u2019 First Amendment and due-process rights.\u201d The issue is \u201cso much bigger\u201d than Trump, she argued.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cIf Democrats can do this to a billionaire, former President, and leading presidential candidate, just imagine what they can do to the rest of us,\u201d her statement said. \u201cThat\u2019s why I filed my ethics complaint against Judge Engoron, and I will continue to fight for all New Yorkers.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Copyright 2023 Nexstar <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Media<\/a> Inc.
