\n Taika Waititi has revealed that he has no plans to return to Marvel\u2019s Thor<\/em> franchise anytime soon.<\/p>\n

\n A fifth film hasn\u2019t been confirmed by the studio but rumors have made their rounds on social media<\/a> in recent months. The director recently told Business Insider<\/a><\/em>\u00a0that he \u201cwouldn\u2019t know if that\u2019s accurate,\u201d but he knows \u201cthat I won\u2019t be involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI\u2019m going to concentrate on these other films that I\u2019ve signed on for,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\n Waititi helmed 2017\u2019s Thor: Ragnarok<\/em>, which took in more than $855 million worldwide, and 2022\u2019s Thor: Love and Thunder<\/em>, which earned over $760 million.<\/p>\n

\n As for the next few years, the Jojo Rabbit<\/em> director wants to focus on the film adaptations of Kazuo Ishiguro\u2019s novel Klara and the Sun<\/em> and Alejandro Jodorowsky\u2019s novel The Incal<\/em>, as well as continuing to develop his highly-anticipated\u00a0Star Wars<\/em> movie, which he said is \u201cstill marinating. I\u2019ve been writing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n \u201cSo that\u2019s six, seven years gone,\u201d Waititi explained. \u201cI\u2019d imagine another Thor<\/em> would be a lot sooner than that. \u2026 But I love Marvel, I love working with them. I love Chris [Hemsworth].\u201d <\/p>\n

\n If Marvel does decide to move forward with another installment in the Thor<\/em> franchise without him, Waititi wishes them nothing but the best.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI would never feel like they are cheating on me,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re in an open relationship, and it\u2019s like if they want to see other people, I\u2019m happ<\/a>y for that. I\u2019d still get back into bed with them one day.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n Earlier this week, at the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie\u00a0Next Goal Wins<\/em>, Waititi admitted to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> that he needs a break from the big-budget superhero movie world. \u201cI don\u2019t know,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m a bit fatigued by working on those big films, studio films, which is why I\u2019ve come back to do smaller films like this; my next film will be a smaller one.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n But, amid Marvel\u2019s recent\u00a0string of misses\u00a0with their last few superhero projects, the director added that \u201cthere\u2019s always a place for them and they\u2019re always inspirational. As a little kid, those are the things I loved, going to see these big movies<\/a> set in outer space to take a great escape from where we are. So I hope they continue.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
