\n Dex Carvey, the son of Dana Carvey, died Wednesday night of an \u201caccidental drug overdose,\u201d the former Saturday Night Live<\/em> star and his wife announced. He was 32.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cDex packed a lot into those 32 years,\u201d Carvey and his wife of 40 years, Paula Zwagerman, wrote in a signed post on X (formerly Twitter<\/a>). \u201cHe was extremely talented at so many things \u2014 music, art, filmmaking, comedy \u2014 and pursued all of them passionately.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt\u2019s not an exaggeration to say that Dex loved life. And when you were with him, you loved life too. He made everything fun,\u201d the post continued.<\/p>\n

\n

\n According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office, Dex was pronounced dead at home. TMZ<\/em> said<\/a> his girlfriend, Kaylee, had called paramedics after he had app<\/a>arently locked himself in the bathroom. An official cause of death has not been determined.<\/p>\n

\n Like his Wayne\u2019s World<\/em>-starring father, Dex was a comedian; he opened for his father\u2019s 2016 Netflix special, Straight White Male<\/em>, and also appeared in the 2013 miniseries<\/a> The Funster<\/em> and Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser<\/em> (2015).<\/p>\n

\n Survivors also include his younger brother, Thomas.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
