{"id":598124,"date":"2023-11-18T17:00:53","date_gmt":"2023-11-18T14:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/travis-scott-says-utopia-was-actually-supposed-to-be-a-musical\/"},"modified":"2023-11-18T17:00:53","modified_gmt":"2023-11-18T14:00:53","slug":"travis-scott-says-utopia-was-actually-supposed-to-be-a-musical","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/travis-scott-says-utopia-was-actually-supposed-to-be-a-musical\/","title":{"rendered":"#Travis Scott Says \u2018UTOPIA\u2019 Was Actually Supposed To Be A Musical"},"content":{"rendered":"<div itemprop=\"articleBody\">Travis Scott has opened up about the creative process behind his <em>UTOPIA<\/em> album and revealed that his original intent for it was supposed to be very different than what it turned out to be.<\/p>\n<p>In a new interview with\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gq.com\/story\/travis-scott-men-of-the-year-cover-2023\"><em>GQ<\/em><\/a>, Scott discussed how he\u2019d like to eventually write a musical, and thought that\u00a0<em>UTOPIA<\/em> would be the pathway to that desire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted the album to be a play,\u201d he said. \u201cI was trying to take Broadway \u2014 because the thing about Broadway theaters, they\u2019re kind of small \u2014 I was trying to bring the idea of Broadway to bigger venues. Like, either, like, plays in stadiums or plays in arenas, but still make it feel like a Broadway bill.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He went on to say that he even went so far as to meet with the playwright Jeremy O. Harris to try to make it h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>en. \u201cI love Jeremy O. Harris. He\u2019s amazing. We were exploring all these different ideas. I met with him. I met with a couple of different people. We just talked about the idea of it happening. I was still trying to figure it out,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"instagram-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Czqs-d2Mfp5\/embed\" width=\"320\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere during the interview, Scott revealed that while he was growing up, he had a longstanding desire to become a nephrologist \u2014 a kidney doctor.<\/p>\n<p>Scott said that the desire was born when he went to a sleepover at a friend\u2019s house when he was in grammar school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe went to his crib,\u201d he said. \u201cHis crib was crazy. I\u2019ve never seen a crib like this. It was OD. His dad was an ob-gyn. And I remember his uncle was at the house, and I asked his uncle, I was like, \u2018What do you do?\u2019 And he\u2019s like, \u2018I\u2019m a nephrologist.\u2019 He told me what it was, and I was like, \u2018Yo, it\u2019s crazy.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Yeah, I want to be that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know why being a kidney doctor was just such\u2026 I think it was his swag,\u201d he continued. \u201cLike, his whole swag was just, like, he was fresh. I don\u2019t know. It was the idea of just, like, saving people at the time was dope.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The rapper said that he remained interested in that career path through middle school and high school, and even up until he entered college at the University of Texas at San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI used to go and shadow at the hospitals.
