Joe Budden has explained why he\u2019s remained tight-lipped about Cassie accusing Diddy of rape, sex trafficking and physical abuse.<\/p>\n

During the latest episode of The Joe Budden Podcast<\/em>, the former Slaughterhouse rapp<\/a>er laid out the \u201cmyriad of reasons\u201d he has yet to speak on the matter \u2014 a decision he\u2019s faced backlash for considering his usually opiniated takes on hot-button topics.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did it for legal reasons,\u201d he began. \u201cI did it for a myriad of reasons. But first and foremost, the legal portion \u2026 y\u2019all ain\u2019t \u2019bout to clip me up or clip us up or clip this set up and just attach it to whatever story and narrative you wanna attach it to.<\/p>\n

\u201cI been on this here internet a long<\/em> time before some of y\u2019all was born out there. I know how it goes, and I know how the blog sites work on a slow weekend. I know what they do from experience because they mostly use me to do it. I don\u2019t be trying to give them nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI be in my little hut somewhere and they go dig something up. They say that you responding to something that you not responding to. They take one piece and if they think you talking about it, they put some text to it that\u2019s gon\u2019 make you look and sound a certain way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe Budden went on to say that he doesn\u2019t want any smoke with Diddy in case some of the rumors about him \u2014 such as allegedly orchestrating a plot to blow up Kid Cudi\u2018s car \u2014 are true.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo: what if that n-gga did all the shit that he\u2019s accused of?\u201d he said. \u201cWhy would I wanna inherit that? What if he did some of that shit, like the violent stuff? [\u2026] Sound like a headache. Don\u2019t sound like the risk is worth the reward to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Budden also said he didn\u2019t feel it was the right time to speak on the lawsuit \u2014 which has since been \u201camicably\u201d settled \u2014 as it would be \u201cinsensitive\u201d towards Cassie.<\/p>\n

\u201cThree: in the event that some people did not believe all of the things that Cassie had to say in that civil suit, I don\u2019t think the last week was a good time to say that,\u201d he said. \u201cThat seems foul and flagrant and insensitive. That don\u2019t seem like something a responsible broadcaster would do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally, Budden said that Diddy is a listener of his podcast, which places even more \u201cresponsibility\u201d on his shoulders.<\/p>\n

\u201cFourth: that n-gga listens to this podcast,\u201d he said. \u201cIt means that if you have never been on the other side of accusations and stories being put out about you, and now having to hear the news<\/a> cycle of people that you know and how they report on that, there\u2019s a responsibility that comes with that.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe internet has the luxury of forming an opinion [\u2026] but right this second \u2014 I\u2019ll speak for me \u2014 I don\u2019t have proof that he raped somebody. I do not have proof that he sex trafficked somebody. Those are the facts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe Budden went on Instagram Live shortly before the release of an earlier podcast episode and said some last-minute \u201cediting\u201d needed to be done, alluding to removing a segment about the legal drama between Diddy and Cassie.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to do a little bit of editing \u2019cause y\u2019all almost got me,\u201d he said. \u201cY\u2019all almost got me to be the only voice out there saying some shit. Nah, them blogs would\u2019ve had a field day with that podcast this morning. Nope.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes you got to protect your peace and your co-hosts\u2019 peace. I ain\u2019t playing with y\u2019all.\u201d<\/p>\n

He did address the lawsuit in the episode, but skirted around saying anything direct about the former couple, instead commenting: \u201cI don\u2019t feel like I need to come in here and have word vomit about my discernment when it comes to evil shit in the industry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe Budden\u2019s former co-hosts, Rory and Mal, seemingly took shots at him on their own podcast earlier this week in an episode titled \u201cWe\u2019re Not Afraid to Talk About Diddy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cStop acting like y\u2019all don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on, y\u2019all don\u2019t see what\u2019s happening,\u201d Mal said. \u201cEverybody got these fucking platforms and wanna sit down and talk about everything else under the moon.<\/p>\n

\u201cTalk about the real shit. People are scared to talk about the real shit because their shit gotta come out too. A lot of people got a lot of shit in their closet.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cYou can talk freely when you ain\u2019t got no skeletons hanging up and you ain\u2019t got no sick shit going on. But when you got some shit, you be like, \u2018Oh, I don\u2019t know if I wanna be the one to address that because they might find out about my little rendezvous.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
