\n Paul Rudd is sharing the \u201chorrible\u201d and \u201crestrictive\u201d diet he underwent to prepare for his role in the Ant-Man <\/em>franchise.<\/p>\n

\n During a recent app<\/a>earance on the Off Menu<\/em> podcast<\/a>, where guests talk about their \u201cdream menu,\u201d hosts Ed Gamble and James Acaster asked the actor what type of water he preferred. <\/p>\n

\n \u201cWhen I was having to train for the\u00a0Ant-Man<\/em>\u00a0movie, and I was on a very restrictive diet, my reward was sparkling water,\u201d he responded, laughing. \u201cThat\u2019s how horrible that diet was. I was like, \u2018Alright, I\u2019m gonna have some sparkling water now, I\u2019ve earned it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Rudd explained that while he was training and working out a lot, he would have \u201ca lot of sparkling water\u201d as a reward. Acaster proceeded to ask him if actually felt like a treat.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cYeah, it was great,\u201d he said. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t flavored, I wasn\u2019t gonna go crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n The Only Murders in the Building<\/em> actor noted that he mostly stuck to the strict diet and training for all his Marvel movies<\/a>. He said, \u201cOnce you\u2019re in it, it\u2019s actually not too hard,\u201d adding that he didn\u2019t mind having \u201creally boring food, every time, over and over again,\u201d especially since he would wake up with \u201ctons of energy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n But Rudd isn\u2019t the only actor to open up about undergoing intense training and diet for a role, as Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Allen White, Robert Pattinson and Channing Tatum are among others who have previously shared their experiences in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

\n Rudd was later asked if other Marvel stars would \u201ccompare notes\u201d on their training when working on ensemble films together, including Avengers: Infinity War<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Endgame<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI mean, I think people kind of are,\u201d he said. \u201cBut I also think I worked out harder than anyone, I would eat better than everyone, and I looked worse than all of them. I had to work out all the time, eat perfectly, just to look kind of bad. Not even like great.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n The Living with Yourself<\/em> actor continued, \u201cI remember on\u00a0Endgame<\/em>, Chris Hemsworth would always have these Tupperware containers and he\u2019s eating this gruel of just a mash of stuff. He\u2019s working out, and then you stand next to a guy like that, and I just think, \u2018Well, what\u2019s the point of any of this?\u2019 Why am I killing myself when that can exist, and then I look at myself and this exists. I can never achieve that. \u2026 That was the good thing that it was Ant-Man, it isn\u2019t Thor. But I tried to work out, and it didn\u2019t work.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
