Dame Dash has alleged that he once played a hand in preventing Memphis Bleek from being robbed of valuable assets.<\/p>\n

The statements were made during what was billed as \u201ca unique 2 vs. 1 therapy session\u201d on a recent episode of The CEO Show<\/em> on Dash\u2019s America Nu Network. What began as a conversation about Bleek\u2019s relevance in the game<\/a> today \u2014with Dash declaring that Bleek \u201cwould not want to still be making current records\u201d \u2014 quickly turned into one of revelations and refuting accusations.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo disrespect to Bleek but I don\u2019t feel like he would not want to still be making current records and making a lot of money doing new records,\u201d he began. \u201cYou know, I didn\u2019t want him to be \u2014 no disrespect but no one wants to be on the Oldies but Goodies Tour. You want to be known for new sh-t.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dash also took this opportunity to counter Bleek\u2019s version of the end of Roc-A-Fella Records, as told on his recent Drink Champs app<\/a>earance, in which the Marcy rapper detailed an altercation between the two<\/a> on the set of Jay-Z\u2019s \u201cChange Clothes\u201d video.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe misconception about Roc-A-Fella is they kicked me out; I left,\u201d Dash recounted. \u201cWhen \u201cChange Clothes\u201d came out, I had already had an office at Rocawear. I was already done, I didn\u2019t wanna run Roc-A-Fella no more. I still don\u2019t wanna run a music [company]. I had retired from Roc-A-Fella long before this so called split\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The former record executive went on to explain how important it is for people to be able to stand on their own two feet, which is what he pushed those under his wing to do; Memphis Bleek included. The entrepreneur went on to claim he \u201csaved\u201d the New York-bred lyricist (real name Malik Deshawn Cox) from being taken advantage of by fake friends.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople close to him were taking his publishing,\u201d said Dash. \u201cWhen he was signing his record deal someone had his \u2014 he was signed to a production deal. And, I\u2019m not going to say nobody\u2019s name. I\u2019ll let them deal with that. He talks about it. All his publishing was getting taken.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cThey were getting a piece of his royalty. He was getting robbed. So, I went and got him a lawyer. I went and got him a real accountant and it really caused a lot of friction internally.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was from Brooklyn and Brooklyn n-ggas was robbing him and I saved him from that. Yeah, I saved him from that and he acknowledges it,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n

Dame Dash\u2019s comments on the demise of Roc-A-Fella Records come on the heels of his response to Lyor Cohen\u2019s explanation on Drink Champs<\/em> surrounding JAY-Z and Dame\u2019s infamous 2004 split, alleging it lacked necessary context \u2014 namely, that it was Cohen who exacerbated the conflict.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he\u2019s right on that. But I do think there could be more of an elaborate answer,\u201d began Dash. \u201cAre you the one that showcased that? Did you give him the option? Did you push him? Make him aware of what he could do in that and what you would support?\u201d he posed.<\/p>\n

\u201cDid you give him the idea to do that?\u201d he continued. \u201cDid you violate and have meetings behind his back? So, when that meeting happened when Dame was yelling, who made that meeting?\u201d he concluded, referencing a\u00a0clip<\/a>\u00a0that made its rounds on YouTube<\/a> in which Dame verbally reprimanded his staff over having a meeting with JAY-Z without his knowledge.<\/p>\n

The remarks came as no surprise considering Dame\u2019s longstanding opinion that Cohen is a culture vulture.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
