\n On Saturday, Billie Eilish confirmed that she recently came out in her Variety <\/em>Power of Women cover story, in which she first revealed her attraction to women. The Grammy-winning superstar walked the red carpet at Variety<\/em>\u2018s Hitmakers event, our invite-only celebration of the biggest songs of the year, where she revealed that she didn\u2019t intend to make a grand gesture of \u201ccoming out.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cNo I didn\u2019t,\u201d Eilish said. \u201cBut I kind of thought, \u2018Wasn\u2019t it obvious\u2019? I didn\u2019t realize people didn\u2019t know. I just don\u2019t really believe in it. I\u2019m just like, \u2018Why can\u2019t we just exist\u2019? I\u2019ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn\u2019t talk about it. Whoops.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eilish continued, \u201cBut I saw the article, and I was like, \u2018Oh I guess I came out today.\u2019 OK cool. It\u2019s exciting to me because I guess people didn\u2019t know, but it\u2019s cool that they know.\u201d She added: \u201cI am for the girls.\u201d <\/p>\n

In the November profile in Variety, Eilish spoke about her feelings for women, telling Variety<\/em>\u2018s Katcy Stephan, \u201cI\u2019ve never really felt like I could relate to girls very well. I love them so much. I love them as people. I\u2019m attracted to them as people. I\u2019m attracted to them for real.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have deep connections with women in my life, the friends in my life, the family in my life,\u201d she explained. \u201cI\u2019m physically attracted to them. But I\u2019m also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the Hitmakers event, the singer received the prize for Film Song of the Year alongside her brother Finneas for \u201cWhat Was I Made For,\u201d featured in the summer blockbuster \u201cBarbie.\u201d<\/p>\n

Variety\u2019s<\/em> Tiana DeNicola asked if her perspective on how other women feel about her has changed after the publication of the story. Eilish replied, \u201cI\u2019m still scared of them, but I think they\u2019re pretty!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
