Everyone should be killed, and I hope they all are killed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some video clips <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared to have been edited in misleading ways,\u00a0the university said.<\/p>\n<p>The video went viral, and opposing petitions called for his termination from the university and for USC to reinstate him.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2023-12-02\/jewish-usc-professor-who-was-disciplined-over-hamas-comments-returns-to-campus\">According to the\u00a0Los Angeles\u00a0Times<\/a>, the Jewish professor said the university told him he was placed on paid administrative leave and barred from campus. He was first told he could no longer teach his undergraduate classes but later was granted access to teach both his undergraduate and graduate level courses via Zoom.<\/p>\n<p>USC officials said after reviewing the video clips and comments, the university directed Strauss to teach the remainder of the semester online \u201cas a precautionary measure.\u201d The measure was taken to minimize disruption and ensure a safe environment for both Strauss and the students,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.provost.usc.edu\/policies-and-statements\/supportive-and-informational-campus-resources\/\">the university said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of the restrictions previously placed on Professor Strauss have now been lifted,\u201d the university said in a statement.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>The university said Strauss \u201cin no way has been disciplined or punished for engaging in protected speech.\u201d The statement from the university was first published on Nov. 27 but updated on Saturday, Dec. 2.<\/p>\n<p>Classes ended for the fall semester on Friday, and final exams will run until Dec. 14.<\/p>\n<p>The incident highlights the ongoing conflict between students, faculty and administration at various colleges across the country as the war between Israel and Hamas continues.
