Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.)<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/nav><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The Republican presidential primary calendar won\u2019t officially kick off until the Jan. 15, 2024, Iowa caucuses, but former President Trump\u2019s dominant position in the polls has already sparked chatter about who could join him on a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> election ticket.<\/p>\n<p>Trump is leading his primary rivals by an average of 60 percent at the national level and more than 20 percent in state surveys, creating a sense that the nomination is his to lose.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Some have started to look beyond the primary calendar and toward a rematch between Trump and President Biden, with former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and others weighing in on who should join Trump on the GOP ballot.<\/p>\n<p>Trump himself has offered fleeting insights into his view on a potential running mate. He told NBC\u2019s Kristen Welker in a September interview that he liked the concept of picking a woman, \u201cbut we\u2019re going to pick the best person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a look at some of the politicians seen as possible Trump running mates, ranked from most likely to less likely.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"South_Dakota_Gov_Kristi_Noem\"><\/span>South Dakota Gov. The 52-year-old\u2019s gender and relative youth would also bring balance to the ticket alongside 77-year-old Trump.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Top_Stories_from_The_Hill\"><\/span>Top Stories from The Hill<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">Noem doesn\u2019t represent a swing state, which could be a strike. And she\u2019s been advised by Corey Lewandowski, a longtime member of Trump\u2019s orbit who has at times generated controversy.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sen_Tim_Scott_R-SC\"><\/span><strong>Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.)<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Trump has made it clear that he\u2019d like to attract more voters of color to his side, and picking a high-profile African-American GOP senator could help him.<\/p>\n<p>Scott, 58, is well-respected in the Senate, and his presidential candidacy featured few direct attacks against Trump. (Photo by Alex Wong\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Scott has proven to be a strong fundraiser, he worked with the Trump administration to develop opportunity zones for low-income communities, and his public discussion of his faith could ease any lingering concerns among the religious right.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr4_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>But when he dropped out\u00a0of the 2024 race in November, Scott declined to endorse another candidate, and he appeared to shut down the possibility of joining the ticket as vice president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing vice president has never been on my to-do list for this campaign, and it\u2019s certainly not there now,\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Rep_Elise_Stefanik_R-NY\"><\/span>Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Stefanik, 39, had long been considered a rising star in the Republican Party before she became one of the most loyal Trump supporters in the House and rose up the House GOP leadership ranks.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr5_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>She served on Trump\u2019s impeachment defense team, endorsed him ahead of his 2024 campaign launch and has backed him amid his mounting legal battles. But it\u2019s unclear if the congresswoman, who hails from northern New York, would provide as much of an electoral edge as other potential candidates.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Arkansas_Gov_Sarah_Huckabee_Sanders\"><\/span>Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Sanders, 41, rose to national prominence as Trump\u2019s White House press secretary, defending the then-president and sparring with <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> outlets such as CNN on a near-daily basis.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr6_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>She left the administration on good terms and has since built her own political brand in becoming the first woman to serve as governor of Arkansas. Mike Huckabee (R), polled at 47 percent in 2003.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Rep_Byron_Donalds_R-Fla\"><\/span>Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Donalds is a fast-rising star in the House GOP who earlier this week expressed openness to the idea of running alongside Trump.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr7_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cIf that\u2019s something that\u2019s open to me, would I do that? Yeah, I would, because I want to do everything possible to help get our country on track, because despite our political disagreements in America, we are the best country in the world. Ron DeSantis (R), in what was seen as a major boost for the Trump campaign over his primary rival.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Nikki_Haley\"><\/span>Nikki Haley<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Haley seems a less likely pick as Trump\u2019s VP right now, since she\u2019s emerged as a real challenger in the presidential race.<\/p>\n<p>The former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under Trump, Haley has been steadily rising in the polls since launching her campaign in February.<\/p>\n<p>To be sure, Haley is now focused on her own race, and she is out to be the presidential nominee for Republicans, not someone\u2019s running mate.<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s not as if strong GOP rivals to an eventual presidential nominee haven\u2019t become vice presidential candidates in the past.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1400\" height=\"787\" src=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/02\/AP18282550436572-e1676499341927.jpg?w=900\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3860127\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/02\/AP18282550436572-e1676499341927.jpg 1400w, https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/02\/AP18282550436572-e1676499341927.jpg?resize=876,492 876w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 899px) 100vw, 876px\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Trump meets with Haley in the Oval Office of the White House on Oct. 9, 2018. Some Republicans, including former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), have\u00a0argued Haley would be the best choice to balance out Trump\u2019s weaknesses in a general election.<\/p>\n<p>The big question, of course, is whether Trump would ever be willing to put Haley on the ticket.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has viewed Haley\u2019s decision to seek the 2024 nomination after initially saying she wouldn\u2019t challenge him as a deep show of disloyalty, hurling insults at her and calling her \u201cbirdbrain.\u201d The two also have their differences on key issues, such as U.S. support for Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Polls show Haley leading Biden by wider margins than Trump in hypothetical match-ups in most cases, an asset that could ultimately become a problem for Trump if Haley overshadows him.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mike_Pompeo\"><\/span>Mike Pompeo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Pompeo served as Trump\u2019s secretary of State and CIA director during his first term, and the former Kansas congressman ultimately passed on a 2024 presidential bid of his own.<\/p>\n<p>Pompeo would bring foreign policy experience and a relationship with some members of the Hill from his three terms in the House.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1400\" height=\"787\" src=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/12\/AP18193386204035-e1701467266214.jpg?w=900\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4338113\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/12\/AP18193386204035-e1701467266214.jpg 1400w, https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/12\/AP18193386204035-e1701467266214.jpg?resize=876,492 876w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 899px) 100vw, 876px\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Pompeo listens to Trump during a press conference at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, on July 12, 2018. One of Ramaswamy\u2019s top staffers left for the Trump campaign in late November, signaling further overlap between the two men.<\/p>\n<p>Ramaswamy is politically inexperienced, however, and his unfavorability rating has nearly doubled since the first primary debate in August, according to a FiveThirtyEight\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/polls\/favorability\/vivek-g-ramaswamy\/\">average of polls<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Rep_Marjorie_Taylor_Greene_R-Ga\"><\/span>Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The second-term congresswoman is one of Trump\u2019s most loyal and outspoken supporters, but choosing to put her on a presidential ticket would also be a major risk given her knack for attracting controversy.<\/p>\n<p>In August, Greene said she would be \u201chonored\u201d to run on a ticket with Trump.
