\n Alicia Keys\u2019 musical, Hell\u2019s Kitchen<\/em>, will come to Broadway this spring.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n The musical, which features a score by Keys and a book by Kristoffer Diaz, made its world premiere at the Public Theater this fall and is currently running there through Jan. 14. The show will transfer to the Shubert Theater on Broadway starting March 28, with an opening night on April 20.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n Hell\u2019s Kitchen<\/em> also features <\/strong>music consulting by Tom Kitt, choreography by Camille A. Brown and direction by Michael Greif. The story follows a 17-year-old growing up in Hell\u2019s Kitchen, which Keys notes mirrors her own biography, even though it\u2019s not exact. Keys\u2019 AKW Productions is a producer on the show. <\/p>\n

\n \u201cGood things take time and for 13 years, I\u2019ve been dreaming, developing and finding inspiration for a musical based on my experience growing up in Hell\u2019s Kitchen, NYC. Hell\u2019s Kitchen<\/em> is inspired by my life, but it\u2019s not a biographical story. It\u2019s a story about family relationships and identity: Who are we? Who do we want to be? Who are we becoming?\u201d Keys said. \u201cThe score features new songs that I\u2019m really excited to get out into the world alongside many of my album releases that you know but you\u2019ve never heard like this \u2013 rearranged and reinterpreted.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n The Broadway cast has not yet been announced. The Off-Broadway cast includes Shoshana Bean, Maleah Joi Moon, Brandon Victor Dixon, Kecia Lewis, Chris Lee and Vanessa Ferguson. <\/p>\n

\n The creative team includes scenic design by Robert Brill, costume design by Dede Ayite and lighting design by Natasha Katz.<\/p>\n

\n The musical takes over the Shubert Theater from Some Like It Hot<\/em>, a best musical nominee last season, which announced it will close Dec. 30.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
