Tyga has credited Lil Wayne\u2018s work ethic with why he\u2019s managed to stay relevant in the game<\/a> for over a decade himself.<\/p>\n

The pair chopped it up on the latest episode of Weezy\u2019s Young Money Radio show on App<\/a>le Music, published on Friday (December 1). When asked what his formula to longevity was, T-Raww had all praises due to his former label boss.<\/p>\n

\u201cStaying in the studio,\u201d Tyga began. \u201cI feel like watching you, that was the first time that, like you said, I had ever been on tour, on a tour bus or anything like that really moving around. And to have so much going on, have success going on, shooting videos, but wherever we was at you would make sure like, \u2018We\u2019re going to the studio today.\u2019 Alright we got a show, we in Buffalo tonight. You gon\u2019 get off stage, you gon\u2019 rock 20,000 people and we got the studio right after.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cAnd if you can\u2019t go to the studio, we got the studio bus. So it was just more like the work ethic I feel like and just staying consistent and staying obsessed with it and loving it. I feel like a lot of people fall out of love with it and that\u2019s why muthafuckas fall off or people just aren\u2019t consistent or not as tapped in. It ain\u2019t even about for the money, it\u2019s the love.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his response, Wayne revealed he got that work ethic from his own mentors: Birdman and Slim.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s interesting about what you saying about the love \u2013 I get it from two people that\u2019s not rappers,\u201d Wayne said. \u201cI get it from Slim and Baby. Studio every day. Slim ain\u2019t about to rap a bar. Baby \u2019bout to come in and try when he feel like it, and nine times out of 10, he \u2019bout to ask one of us, \u2018Man write this, write this.\u2019 He gon\u2019 switch a few words to say it how he wanna say it. So with that said, I used to always sit back and ask myself like\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Cause they wasn\u2019t setting studio time up just for the artist to be there,\u201d he continued. \u201cThey there. All 1,000 hours we there, they there. So I used to sit back and be like, \u2018What the hell?\u2019 It was more so Slim. I used to be like, \u2018Why is Slim here so much?\u2019 \u2018Cause we here writing. He wanna hear the verse when you finish, right before you go in.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe wanna hear like, \u2018What you got, Wayne?\u2019 Like a coach\u2026 So I was like, that\u2019s simply that they love it. They love it that much because if they didn\u2019t, they wouldn\u2019t care about what we was saying\u2026 That\u2019s where I get that shit from. I\u2019m glad you got that shit from me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Tyga named Lil Wayne (as well as Eminem) his vote for the \u201cBest Rappers Of All Time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The convo was sparked after Billboard<\/em> and VIBE<\/em> released a list of their Top 50 Rappers of All Time. Per the list, Em landed at the No.5 spot, whereas Weezy found himself following not too far behind at No. 7. And for the former Young Money rapper, they were his No. 1 and 2.<\/p>\n

\u201cLil Wayne & Eminem are the best rappers of all time! Lyrical word play, delivery, flow, pockets, originality , raw, intentional , clarity, generational influence,\u201d he wrote on Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Several days later, he also acknowledged his former Young Money partner in rhyme, Nicki Minaj.<\/p>\n

\u201cNicki is the best female rapper of all time no one comes close! World play , punchlines , delivery, pockets , beat selection, creativity. Inflictions,\u201d he wrote in a series<\/a> of follow-up tweets.<\/p>\n

The California native even shouted out Doja Cat, who he said was a \u201creally good rapper too<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
