There were also disagreements on how and whether to regulate the foundation models of chatbot software such as ChatGPT and Google\u2019s Bard, according to the Associated Press.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>In addition, EU lawmakers weighed full bans on AI-powered facial recognition systems due to concerns about privacy, putting them at odds with member countries who want to use the systems for law enforcement. As a result, talks were paused Thursday after 22 hours of negotiation left them at a stalemate.<\/p>\n<p>The talks began Wednesday in Brussels and resumed on Friday morning. <\/p>\n<p>Europe took the lead in the race to develop rules around AI in 2021, which has spurred concerns about the risks the advanced technology could pose to privacy, jobs and copyright protection.<\/p>\n<p>The deal will still need to be voted on by the European Parliament early next year, but Italian lawmaker\u00a0Brando Benifei, who helped lead negotiations, told AP that is seen as a formality. <\/p>\n<p>The deal will require foundation models, including ChatGPT and other <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> purpose AI systems, to comply with transparency obligations before they are on the market, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/stalled-eu-ai-act-talks-set-resume-2023-12-08\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/stalled-eu-ai-act-talks-set-resume-2023-12-08\/\">according to Reuters<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Obligations include: <\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<ul>\n<li>Drawing up technical documentation <\/li>\n<li>Complying with EU copyright law<\/li>\n<li>Disseminating detailed summaries about training content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The deal also requires foundation models with a high impact and systemic risk to do more, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conducting model evaluations<\/li>\n<li>Assessing and mitigating systemic risks<\/li>\n<li>Conducting adversarial training<\/li>\n<li>Guaranteeing cybersecurity <\/li>\n<li>Reporting on energy efficiency<\/li>\n<li>Reporting to the European Commission on serious incidents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As far as surveillance, governments can use real-time biometric surveillance, but only in public spaces for victims of certain crimes, to prevent present or foreseeable threats, including terrorist attacks and to conduct searches on those suspected of the most serious of crimes, per Reuters. <\/p>\n<p>The agreement also bans cognitive behavioral manipulation, scr<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ing of facial images from the internet or CCTV footage and scoring and biometric systems that infer religious, political, philosophical beliefs, along with race and sexual orientation. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Copyright 2023 Nexstar <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Media<\/a> Inc.
