{"id":600713,"date":"2023-12-11T07:39:23","date_gmt":"2023-12-11T04:39:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/elon-musk-asks-alex-jones-about-the-whole-sandy-hook-thing-and-jones-apologizes-again\/"},"modified":"2023-12-11T07:39:23","modified_gmt":"2023-12-11T04:39:23","slug":"elon-musk-asks-alex-jones-about-the-whole-sandy-hook-thing-and-jones-apologizes-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/elon-musk-asks-alex-jones-about-the-whole-sandy-hook-thing-and-jones-apologizes-again\/","title":{"rendered":"#Elon Musk asks Alex Jones about \u2018the whole Sandy Hook thing\u2019 and Jones apologizes again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/09\/6515c0bf5dfdd8.32753673-e1700878377925.jpeg?w=900\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones issued another apology for his comments about the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, as tech billionaire Elon Musk asked him about the controversy amid his reinstatement on Musk\u2019s platform X (formerly <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Infowars host was pressed on the issue during an <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance on X Spaces <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MarioNawfal\/status\/1733909736385331339?s=20\">livestream<\/a> co-hosted by Musk and Mario Nawfal Sunday.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cOne of the questions I really have to just get out of the way and I and you\u2019re probably talking about this already before is the whole Sandy Hook thing,\u201d Musk ask Jones. \u201cSo what exactly did you say and what is wrong with that situation?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response, Jones said that he was simply trying to cover the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> of the mass shooting, noting that he fell victim to a politically motivated judge, noting former President Trump\u2019s ongoing legal challenges in New York.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I had a very small operation and did not even understand how powerful I was. And so when that event is called, the school shooting, which I do believe happened, happened 11 years ago,\u201d Jones said in response. \u201cThe Internet exploded and it was the top story for off and on for years with all the with all these professors and former school safety people and all of them saying they believed it was a drill and I simply covered them covering that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cAnd so suddenly I would wake up and there would be sometimes 100 articles or more a day, every major news channel saying that I was currently saying nobody died currently sending people to their houses, currently peeing on graves,\u201d Jones added.<\/p>\n<p>Jones also said that he had to give numerous apologies for his comments about Sandy Hook, claiming that he was just playing \u201cdevil\u2019s advocate\u201d and he did not believe the shooting was staged.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI apologize on every show. And I\u2019ll say it again, I apologize that I just gave my commentary because I\u2019m really just a guy\u2026talk radio host. So I do that on the Internet. I just take calls and interview guests and that I play devil\u2019s advocate,\u201d Jones explained. \u201cAnd if that hurt people\u2019s feelings, I apologize. But I did not send people to your houses. I did not pee on graves. I don\u2019t know any of the stuff that went on.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Jones received massive criticism and scrutiny for promoting conspiracy theories, including his one on Sandy Hook. He stated that the massacre, which left 20 children dead, was a so-called false flag event that was designed to shore up support for gun control.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Families of the victims sued the Infowars host over the conspiracy theory, which resulted in their winning nearly $1.5 billion in judgments against him.<\/p>\n<p>Jones\u2019 appearance on the X Space livestreams comes hours after Musk announced the controversial host\u2019s return to the platform, conducting a poll on Saturday where he asked users \u00a0whether he should reinstate Jones\u2019s account on the platform.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1733733520235696526?s=20\">According to<\/a> the poll\u2019s results, 70 percent of respondents were in favor of Jones returning to the platform.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jones \u2014 along with his InfoWars account \u2014 was permanently banned from Twitter in 2018 for violating its abusive behavior policy.
