\n Oh say can you sea!<\/p>\n

A massive flotilla of pleasure boats is expected to set sail at the Jersey Shore Saturday as part of a tribute to law-enforcement, veterans and, for many participants, President Trump.<\/p>\n

Organizers think the seafaring spectacle could set a new world record.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say it\u2019s going to be a 10-mile span of boats,\u201d said lead organizer Chris Molla. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be pretty epic.\u201d<\/p>\n

An anticipated 2,000 to 2,500 vessels launched from across the Garden State will set off from where the Toms River empties into Barnegat Bay at around 10 a.m., organizers told The Post.<\/p>\n

Molla, 42, will be joined aboard his 10-meter Trojan International boat by Grand Marshal and Stafford, NJ Councilman George Williams, retired and active-duty cops and his wife, who is a nurse.<\/p>\n

Accordingly, his ship will fly Old Glory, as well as flags supporting police, nurses and Trump.<\/p>\n

But Molla made clear that Joe Biden-boosting boaters are welcome at the bipartisan bash, with the first and foremost goal honoring cops and other American heroes.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt really isn\u2019t boaters for Trump; it\u2019s boaters for law enforcement and veterans. Trump just happ<\/a>ens to support both of them,\u201d he said. \u201cBoaters tend to be a pretty happy crowd. We\u2019re out there to have a good time. There\u2019s no hatred or animosity towards anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump has frequently tweeted of his love of boaters, who have taken to gathering in support of him.<\/p>\n

Shortly after Saturday\u2019s event kicks off, the boaters will fan out, with some heading north and some south depending on which direction they call home.<\/p>\n

The two groups\u2019 numbers will be bolstered along the way, though, by hundreds of additional boats joining from arteries up and down the shore.<\/p>\n

Molla, of Manahawkin, will pace the southbound group, while retired MTA worker Bob Rogers will lead the northbound contingent aboard his 23-foot center console Angler, along with son Chris.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s for a good cause,\u201d said the elder Rogers, 65, of Brick, NJ. \u201cI know a lot of people that I asked to come and they said, \u2018Yeah, I\u2019ll come out for law enforcement.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Molla helped organize a similar parade in July as a way of counter-protesting a Black Lives Matter demonstration in Manahawkin without making life more difficult for cops.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey wanted to march on our bridge. Fine, absolutely, that\u2019s their right,\u201d he recalled. \u201cI was going to have a counter-protest, and the mayor reached out and the chief of police reached out and said, \u2018If you would, please let them do their thing and then you can do your thing.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cI said, \u2018Absolutely. I don\u2019t want to cause any headaches for you guys.’\u201d<\/p>\n

So Molla obtained a permit and took to the water, where there were no roads, bridges or intersections to clog.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were thinking, \u2018Oh, we might get 250 boats. That would be cool,\u2019\u201d said Williams. \u201cAt the end of the day we had 1,300 boats, and realized there was a big demand for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Had it been officially verified, that figure would have easily topped the 1,180 vessels that made up what Guinness World Records recognizes as the largest-ever boat parade, held in 2014 in Malaysia.<\/p>\n

Voicing even higher hopes for the attendance at Saturday\u2019s parade, organizers say they\u2019re reached out to Guinness about having a representative on hand to verify the record, but haven\u2019t heard back.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will likely end up being an informal record,\u201d said Williams. \u201cBut I have no doubt it will be the biggest boat parade in history.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guinness didn\u2019t respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n

Boat parades have become a common way for backers of Trump to express support from him across the country, including in New York City, where there have been a parades this summer in Queens waters and near the Statue of Liberty.<\/p>\n

This Saturday\u2019s New Jersey boat parade is one of several scheduled around the country for the holiday weekend, including a Florida flotilla set for Labor Day, according to The Palm Beach Post.<\/p>\n

That event will end at Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago resort, and reportedly feature three guests who voiced their support at last week\u2019s Republican National Convention: eldest son Donald Trump Jr., Kimberly Guilfoyle and former Florida Attorney General<\/a> Pam Bondi.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
