{"id":601071,"date":"2023-12-13T19:28:48","date_gmt":"2023-12-13T16:28:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/eic-opens-e1-2b-funding-for-strategic-technologies-in-2024\/"},"modified":"2023-12-13T19:28:48","modified_gmt":"2023-12-13T16:28:48","slug":"eic-opens-e1-2b-funding-for-strategic-technologies-in-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/eic-opens-e1-2b-funding-for-strategic-technologies-in-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"#EIC opens \u20ac1.2B funding for strategic technologies in 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img-cdn.tnwcdn.com\/image?fit=796%2C417&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn0.tnwcdn.com%2Fwp-content%2Fblogs.dir%2F1%2Ffiles%2F2023%2F12%2FUntitled-design-22-7.jpg&amp;signature=f98b94ae4c4cb558f82b46714719545d\" \/><\/p>\n<div id=\"article-main-content\">\n                            The newly-adopted 2024 work programme of the European Innovation Council (EIC) is opening over \u20ac1.2bn in funding opportunities, mainly targeting deep tech startups and SMEs.<\/p>\n<p>Under the new scheme, the EIC Fund will receive a capital injection of \u20ac585mn to invest in EIC selected companies, leveraging over \u20ac2 billion in new investments.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of the funding addresses all fields of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>, but \u20ac420mn is dedicated to startups and SMEs developing tech for strategic industries, including Generative AI, space, critical raw materials, semiconductors, and quantum. This is in line the bloc\u2019s initiatives such as the Chips Act, the Net Zero Industry Act, and the AI Act.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, EIC\u2019s work programme for next year is split into three funding domains:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>EIC Pathfinder: \u20ac256mn for research with the potential to lead to technological breakthroughs \u2014 with grants up to \u20ac4mn.<\/li>\n<li>EIC Transition: \u20ac94mn to turn research from lab to fab, following the results from Pathfinder, the European Research Council Proof of Concept projects, and Horizon Europe. Here, grants go up to \u20ac2.5mn.<\/li>\n<li>EIC Accelerator: \u20ac675mn for startups and SMEs to develop and scale innovations that can create new markets or disrupt existing ones \u2014 with grands no higher than \u20ac2.5mn. Out of the total amount, \u20ac405mn of investments will be managed by the EIC Fund, which will receive an extra \u20ac180 to complete investments in companies selected in previous Accelerator calls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The new work programme also comes with a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of makeovers, which will \u2014 hopefully \u2014 address the issues plaguing EIC since its launch in 2021: from <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/eic.ec.europa.eu\/news\/eic-accelerator-update-implementation-process-2022-05-13_en\">funding difficulties and delays<\/a> to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sciencebusiness.net\/news\/european-innovation-council\/european-innovation-council-needs-more-autonomy-become-game\">tensions with the Commission<\/a> and even the abrupt shutdown of the Accelerator submissions portal in July.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are committed to making Europe the most attractive place to develop technologies and grow deep tech companies,\u201d said Commissioner Iliana Ivanova. \u201cThe new EIC work programme with \u20ac1.2 billion for 2024 and improved rules, as well as the restructured EIC Fund, are designed to do just that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the hurdles, EIC\u2019s support has so far yielded a number of impressive results.
