{"id":601218,"date":"2023-12-15T20:39:22","date_gmt":"2023-12-15T17:39:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/florida-braces-for-powerful-storm-severe-weather-warning-issued\/"},"modified":"2023-12-15T20:39:22","modified_gmt":"2023-12-15T17:39:22","slug":"florida-braces-for-powerful-storm-severe-weather-warning-issued","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/florida-braces-for-powerful-storm-severe-weather-warning-issued\/","title":{"rendered":"#Florida braces for powerful storm, severe weather warning issued"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/09\/GettyImages-1243575195.jpg?w=900\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A powerful storm is expected to form in the Gulf of Mexico Friday evening and head toward Florida Saturday and up the east coast over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/discussions\/hpcdiscussions.php?disc=pmdspd\">issued a \u201cSlight Risk of severe thunderstorms\u201d<\/a> over parts of Florida from Saturday into Sunday morning, warning that frequent lightning, severe wind gusts, tornadoes and even hail are possible.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>NOAA\u2019s Weather Prediction Center (WPC) warned that heavy rain may cause flash flooding in urban areas and areas with roads and small streams.<\/p>\n<p>The warm, wet storm could affect holiday <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> plans, but is not expected to be massively disruptive. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/products\/outlook\/day3otlk.html\">WPC predicts<\/a> that the three-day risk is \u201cmarginal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The impacts are projected to be similar to a tropical storm or subtropical storm, Weather Authority Chief Meteorologist Matt Devitt <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/winknews.com\/2023\/12\/14\/severe-weather-warning-issued\/\">told WINK News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The storm is expected to join forces with a system that developed in the West and travel up the east coast throughout the weekend. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rain is expected to stretch into the Plains and travel up the East coast throughout the next 48 hours, WPC predicts.<\/p>\n<p>WPC said the areas with the highest probability for severe storms as it moves north is eastern North Carolina and the state\u2019s Outer Banks.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/weather.com\/forecast\/regional\/news\/2023-12-15-florida-east-coast-storm-rain-coastal-flooding-wind\">The Weather Center said<\/a> much of the Northeast will see strong winds and rain on Monday that could turn into snow near the Great Lakes and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>alachians.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Copyright 2023 Nexstar <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Media<\/a> Inc.
