Suge Knight has said that his viral tweet assigning responsibility for the death of 2Pac was \u201cfake.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Saturday (December 23), Knight posted to Instagram that a message from his Twitter<\/a> account just one day prior was phony.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis Twitter account has been hacked,\u201d he wrote. \u201cFix it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The initial tweet, posted on Friday (December 22), claimed that Knight knows who is responsible for 2Pac\u2018s death nearly 30 years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis guy little guy is responsible for the demise of 2pac,\u201d the message read, while posting an old candid photo of Knight with Pac and a man named Trevon \u201cTre\u201d Lane, which Lane said on social media was taken back in 1996<\/a> during a trip<\/a> to Belize.<\/p>\n

Lane has not commented about Suge\u2019s tweet. Knight, as mentioned above, responded the following day via Instagram to deny its veracity.<\/p>\n

While Lane\u2019s name isn\u2019t often mentioned in stories about the events of September 7, 1996, a former cop assigned to 2Pac\u2019s murder investigation told KTNV<\/a><\/em> that Lane\u2019s tangential connection to Death Row may have contributed to Pac\u2019s demise.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Orlando] Anderson had previously been involved in a conflict with members of Death Row\u2019s entourage and members of a gang called the Mob Piru, affiliated with Death Row Records. And an individual named Trevon Lane had his Death Row medallions stolen from him at a mall during a beef between the Crips and the Bloods, and Lane was in Vegas with Tupac,\u201d said Greg Kading. \u201cHe pointed out across the lobby was one of the guys that stole his chain.\u201d<\/p>\n

That was when, Kading says, Pac punched Anderson and set off the chain of events that ended with the rapp<\/a>er\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Mob James \u2014 a former associate of Suge Knight\u2019s \u2014 told The Art of Dialogue<\/a><\/em> back in 2021 that Lane should be held accountable for 2Pac\u2019s death. Like Greg Kading, James said that Lane the one who pointed Orlando Anderson out to the rap star.<\/p>\n

\u201c[2Pac] didn\u2019t know who Orlando was,\u201d James said. \u201cHe didn\u2019t know that guy from jack shit\u2026 [Trevon Lane is] the only one, because of that altercation at the mall, who knew Orlando\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cSo 2Pac didn\u2019t just run up on a random mothafucka and take off. Trevon told him, period, point blank.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lane has not been charged with any crime, then or now, in connection with 2Pac\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n

Suge Knight has questioned many peoples\u2019 roles in 2Pac\u2019s death through the years \u2014 including, most recently, Snoop Dogg.<\/p>\n

Last month, in\u00a0an explosive segment on his podcast Collect Call<\/em>, the currently incarcerated founder of Death Row Records \u2014 who was in the car with \u2018Pac the night he was shot in Las Vegas \u2014 openly wondered about Snoop\u2019s role in the death of the rap legend.<\/p>\n

When asked about\u00a0Diddy\u2019s alleged involvement in \u2018Pac\u2019s murder, Knight turned his attention to Snoop and said he wanted a face-to-face talk with his ex-signee, who now owns Death Row.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs far as the Puffy situation, I really, really, really gotta have a real conversation with Snoop,\u201d he said. \u201cI knew that \u2018Pac did everything right by him by putting him on\u00a0All Eyez On Me<\/em>, speaking about him, and being real with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd if it\u2019s true what they say, face-to-face it\u2019s gonna be a lot of explaining to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Knight made several other claims, including that Snoop Dogg told Tha Dogg Pound\u00a0rapper\u00a0Daz Dillinger not to go to Vegas with the rest of the Death Row crew the night of September 7, 1996, as \u201csomething\u2019s gonna happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
