The Switch version of Metroidvania game<\/a> GRIME<\/em> will launch on January 25 alongside the game\u2019s final free download<\/a>able content \u201cParting Shade\u201d on all available platforms, publisher Akupara Games and developer Clove Bite announced. <\/p>\n

The release of \u201cParting Shade,\u201d which follows previous free downloadable contents \u201cColors of Rot\u201d and \u201cTinge of Terror,\u201d will mark the rebranding of GRIME<\/em> as\u00a0GRIME Definitive Edition<\/em>. The Switch release will include all previously released content at launch.<\/p>\n

GRIME<\/em> is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series<\/a>, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam<\/a>, Epic Games Store<\/a>, and GOG<\/a>.<\/p>\n

GRIME<\/em> has rooted itself in the Metroidvania playerscape with its anatomical horror, soulslike leveling progression, and innovative parry system. Creative Director, Yarden Weissbrot, saw the opportunity, the hunger, the drive for more GRIME and wanted to deliver on that possibility as his deep knowledge of the metroidvania playerscape saw that something was missing. This allowed developer Clover Bite the ability to fill that hole and create GRIME Definitive Edition<\/em>, the ultimate way to explore GRIME<\/em> including the base game and three free downloadable contents: \u201cColors of Rot,\u201d \u201cTinge of Terror,\u201d and the newly introduced, \u201cParting Shade.\u201d<\/p>\n

In GRIME<\/em>, you control a nameless embodiment of destruction\u2014hacking and slashing your way through an aberrant landscape where rock-formed monsters rule. Armed with various \u201cliving weapons\u201d and a black hole head, you consume the essence of the fallen to strengthen your vessel and unlock powerful upgrades.<\/p>\n
