\n The schedule for the milestone 40th Sundance Film Festival continues to fall into focus. The beloved Utah event \u2014 scheduled for Jan. 19-26 in Park City \u2014\u00a0has unveiled the lineup for Beyond Film programming and revealed that the documentary The Greatest Night in Pop<\/em>, a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the iconic song \u201cWe Are the World,\u201d will be part of this year\u2019s program. <\/p>\n

\n The roster of Beyond Film speakers includes notables with films in this year\u2019s festival like Steven Soderbergh\u00a0(Presence<\/em>),\u00a0Jesse Eisenberg\u00a0(A Real Pain<\/em>),\u00a0Chiwetel Ejiofor\u00a0(Rob Peace<\/em>),\u00a0Sue Bird\u00a0(Sue Bird: In The Clutch<\/em>),\u00a0Dee Rees\u00a0(Pariah<\/em>),\u00a0Lucy Lawless\u00a0(Never Look Away<\/em>),\u00a0Andr\u00e9 Holland\u00a0(Exhibiting Forgiveness<\/em>),\u00a0Debra Granik\u00a0(Conbody vs Everybody<\/em>),\u00a0Jay Ellis\u00a0(Freaky Tales<\/em>)\u00a0and\u00a0Nzingha Stewart\u00a0(Me\/We<\/em>). <\/p>\n

\n The slate also includes a conversation within New Frontier, which champions artists practicing at the crossroads of film, art, performance and new media<\/a>. Titled\u00a0\u201cNew Frontier: Let\u2019s Rebrand Artificial Intelligence!,\u201d\u00a0the chat has booked Rashaad News<\/a>ome\u00a0and New Frontier alumni like\u00a0Navid Khonsari,\u00a0Ari Melenciano and\u00a0Sandra Rodriguez.<\/p>\n

\n Another highlight is the return of Sundance alumni like Miguel Arteta\u00a0(Beatriz at Dinner)<\/em>,\u00a0Richard Linklater\u00a0(Hit Man<\/em>),\u00a0Dawn Porter\u00a0(Luther: Never Too Much<\/em>) Christine Vachon\u00a0(A Different Man<\/em>), all of whom will participate in\u00a0\u201cPower of Story: Four Decades of Taking Chances,\u201d a conversation about their careers in independent film, the legacy of storytelling and the importance of taking risks. <\/p>\n

\n Director Bao Nguyen will unveil Greatest Night in Pop<\/em> about the seminal 1985 track that features 46 icons including Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Cyndi Lauper, Diana Ross and Stevie Wonder. Following the screening, there will be an extended conversation with Nguyen, producer\u00a0Julia Nottingham and producer and star\u00a0Lionel Richie.<\/p>\n

\n In addition to\u00a0Power of Story, Cinema Caf\u00e9 presented by Audible and The Big Conversation, the lineup includes a New Frontier conversation about artificial intelligence and a roster of events to celebrate the 40th edition. With the exception of\u00a0Power of Story, all Beyond Film events are free and open to the public. <\/p>\n

\n \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to be adding to our program a special screening of\u00a0The Greatest Night in Pop<\/em>, taking us behind the scenes of how \u2018We Are the World\u2019 came together, followed by a conversation with Lionel Richie, filmmaker Bao Nguyen and producer Julia Nottingham,\u201d offered\u00a0Kim Yutani, Sundance Film Festival director of programming. \u201cOur robust film lineup will be rounded out by a wide range of conversations touching upon theme<\/a>s in the programming and featuring some of today\u2019s most inspiring creators and leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n
