Ever since\u00a0before<\/em> they started dating, back when the\u00a0NFL<\/strong> star was just publicly crushing on the Love Story<\/em> singer, America has been cheering them on. And it\u2019s been going great so far \u2014 so great, in fact, that fans have been on the edge of their seats basically since Thanksgiving waiting for news<\/a> they were going to take the next step!<\/p>\n

Was Trav going to propose on Taylor\u2019s birthday? At Christmas? On midnight on New Year\u2019s Eve?? Well, someone thinks they have the answer\u2026<\/p>\n

Sources told\u00a0Page Six<\/em> on Thursday that the couple HAVE talked about it. But they aren\u2019t ready to pull that trigger just yet. Or rather, they are \u2014 but they don\u2019t want to look like they are? An insider claimed the couple decided not to get engaged over the holidays because \u201cthey don\u2019t want it to seem like it\u2019s rushed insanity.\u201d Even Valentine\u2019s Day, they say, is too soon for Taylor.<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s romance began in late July, right after Travis admitted publicly on his\u00a0New Heights<\/em> podcast that he\u2019d tried to give the pop star his phone number on a friendship bracelet at her concert, only to find out she wasn\u2019t doing meet-and-greets. Tay later told\u00a0Time<\/em> magazine she was impressed with the \u201cmetal as hell\u201d move \u2014 and that they started hanging out right after that.<\/p>\n

However, they didn\u2019t go public for nearly two months, when Tay attended her first\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs<\/strong> game<\/a> alongside the Kelce family in late September. So a Christmas proposal might have seemed, to the general<\/a> public, like they got engaged after just three months together! That would be quick\u2026 but not unheard of. However, Taylor is clearly protective of her image here.<\/p>\n

So if V-Day is too soon, when\u00a0is<\/em> the right time where they don\u2019t look insane?\u00a0Page Six<\/em>\u2018s sources say it\u2019s coming THIS SUMMER! The source claims:<\/p>\n

\u201cTaylor and Travis discussed it and there is a plan. They will get engaged on their one-year anniversary in July.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Ooh! Right, once they can say they\u2019ve been together a whole year, that\u00a0would<\/em> cross a threshold for a lot of critics. Certainly no one could say a couple was rushing if they got engaged after a YEAR together.<\/p>\n

This does raise one question for us, though, something we\u2019ll have to ask all of our Perezcious dating experts and Swifties out there\u2026 Does\u00a0planning<\/em> an engagement together take the romance out of it? How important is surprise in a proposal? Is it necessary? Or is that too old-fashioned an idea? Is it better to just plan these things together?<\/p>\n
