On Thursday, the 45-year-old app<\/a>eared at a screening for the upcoming documentary Common Ground<\/em>, and he opened up to E!<\/em> about his decision to leave acting \u2014 and the City of Angels \u2014 in the dust:<\/p>\n

\u201cI love what I did for a really long time. I love making films, I just did it for so long. We had an amazing run.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Despite calling life on set a \u201ccommunity\u201d and a \u201cfamily\u201d, The Vampire Diaries<\/em> alum is focused on his other family \u2014 his wife Nikki Reed<\/strong> and their two kids, 6-year-old Bodhi Soleil<\/strong> and their 6-month-old son. As you\u2019ll recall, back in 2019 the couple and their daughter moved out to a farm on the outskirts of El Lay to focus more on their family. Since then, they\u2019ve welcomed their second child last year, so it makes sense Ian would take a step back and focus on his ever-growing fam!<\/p>\n

While smiling at Nikki, he told the outlet:<\/p>\n

As far as the Twilight<\/em> actress\u2019 opinion on farm life with her man? She\u2019s absolutely loving it \u2014 and so are their kids:<\/p>\n
