Benny The Butcher has said that rap stardom and a major-label record deal hasn\u2019t protected him from being profiled by law enforcement.<\/p>\n

In an interview on\u00a0The Breakfast Club\u00a0<\/em>on Friday (January 12), the\u00a0Everybody Can\u2019t Go\u00a0<\/em>rapp<\/a>er talked about being \u201charassed\u201d by police, and about his issues with the feds as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do feel like I\u2019m being harassed [by police in Buffalo],\u201d he told co-host Charlamagne Tha God. \u201cI just found out I\u2019m on the FBI watchlist back home. They raided my studio about two months ago.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The studio incident is something Benny spoke about in an interview with\u00a0BagFuel\u00a0<\/em><\/a>in November of last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis my studio right here. This [is from] like five days ago,\u201d he said while showing footage of armored trucks and SUVs to the show\u2019s hosts. \u201cWe\u2019ve been out of that studio for two and a half months. It\u2019s crazy, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cThey\u2019re not looking for me. You don\u2019t think them people know where I live at? Of course they do\u2026 I got a house in Buffalo. They didn\u2019t go there\u2026 This shit is wicked.\u201d<\/p>\n

HipHopDX <\/em>has reached out to the FBI\u2019s Buffalo office for comment, but has not received a response as of this writing.<\/p>\n

On The Breakfast Club<\/em>, Benny also admitted that he suspected his social media<\/a> accounts were being watched by authorities.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m pretty sure when I see who\u2019s watching my [Instagram] Stories, the pages with no profile, I know that\u2019s Agent Dan somewhere. I\u2019m not a fool,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Benny (real name Jeremie Pennick) has been sentenced to both federal and state prison time over the years. During a federal prison stay in the mid-2000s for a probation violation, he was at one point locked up with JAY-Z\u2019s longtime friend Emery Jones<\/a>, who was serving time for a drug distribution charge.<\/p>\n

Jones is famously referenced in Hov\u2019s 2006 song \u201cDo U Wanna Ride.\u201d A separate stint behind bars for Benny came right as his cousin Westside Gunn was beginning to put together Griselda<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Buffalo rapper has been public about leaving the drug game<\/a> behind when he began working with Griselda.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t doing it around a year before I got signed,\u201d he said of being in the streets during a 2021 talk with HipHopDX<\/em>. \u201cI wasn\u2019t doing it. I wasn\u2019t fucking around. I was just going back and forth to the studio rapping and damn near 70 percent of my homeboys is locked up right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
