{"id":605204,"date":"2024-01-19T00:00:13","date_gmt":"2024-01-18T21:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/joe-budden-was-depressed-by-every-hip-hop-50-celebration\/"},"modified":"2024-01-19T00:00:13","modified_gmt":"2024-01-18T21:00:13","slug":"joe-budden-was-depressed-by-every-hip-hop-50-celebration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/joe-budden-was-depressed-by-every-hip-hop-50-celebration\/","title":{"rendered":"#Joe Budden Was Depressed By Every Hip Hop 50 Celebration"},"content":{"rendered":"<div itemprop=\"articleBody\">Joe Budden has revealed that he had a number of issues with last year\u2019s various Hip Hop 50 celebrations, which he explained during a recent episode of his show.<\/p>\n<p>The r<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>er-turned-podcaster compared his thoughts about the 2023 events to those expressed by KRS-One, who lamented the Grammys tribute to Hip Hop back in December.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hate all them shits,\u201d Budden said. \u201cThey coulda celebrated Hip Hop and honored Hip Hop, which is what KRS-One was saying. He was saying, \u2018Why would I show up to these events to celebrate Hip Hop and there\u2019s no Hip Hop there?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He went on to add that it was performative for record label promotion. Check out the full clip from Budden below.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"instagram-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C2NYN4wLRkr\/embed\" width=\"320\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>KRS-One has been consistently vocal in his resistance to Hip Hop 50 celebrations. In an interview from December, the legendary MC explained he turned down a personal invite from LL COOL J himself as he felt the Grammys hadn\u2019t shown love to the culture until Hip Hop 50 celebrations began.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was asked about two months ago; they asked me to do it and I turned them down,\u201d he said. \u201cWith all due respect, LL COOL J himself called me, spoke to my wife and pretty much begged for me to be on the show but we turned him down. And reason being is because I know people don\u2019t understand this \u2014 and I say this respectfully. KRS-One is a Hip Hop extremist. I\u2019m not violent, a violent extremist. I\u2019m insane with this culture. I know I must have lost my mind in this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued: \u201cI don\u2019t fight it, I don\u2019t apologize for it. I recognize that my experience in this thing called Hip Hop is different from mostly everybody else\u2019s experience with Hip Hop. [\u2026] I restrict myself in a certain way, because I know who I am in this culture. You\u2019re in the temple of Hip Hop, this is our home. This place, this institution can never side with, come under, understand the exploitation of our culture. Never will you ever see me standing in the environment where our culture is being exploited.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Budden has had plenty to say about a number of other topics of late, including his relationship with JAY-Z.<\/p>\n<p>The artist and host confessed in December that he didn\u2019t \u201chandle himself well\u201d during his rift with Hov\u00a0after the latter took over at Def Jam.<\/p>\n<p>Appearing on\u00a0<em>The Pivot Podcast<\/em>, hosted by former NFL stars Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder, Budden admitted that he wished he had handled things differently with his former label boss.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen JAY-Z got his role as president of Def Jam, I was a young artist on Def Jam trying to work on my second album.
