Google Earth refreshes its imagery every several months to years, depending on location.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"AI-powered\"><\/span><b>AI-powered<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nimbo\u2019s chronological views of the world rely on Sentinel 1 and 2 satellite images supplied by the EU\u2019s Copernicus programme. This is far less precise thanwhat is offered by Google Earth \u2014 so no spying on your neighbours.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But its creators say the real magic of the tool is that it allows you to see how our planet transforms month-to-month \u2014 pr<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">oviding unrivalled data for scientists, journalists, environmental professionals or anyone wanting to explore Mother Earth at this time of extreme global change.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plus the software is open access. After that point you will have to opt for one of their paid plans. However, we\u2019ve used the programme quite a lot already and haven\u2019t been cut off \u2014 yet.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For us, the biggest downside is that the imagery is only available from 2019, which greatly limits its potential for measuring long-term geographical changes. Hopefully this range will improve as the fledgling company expands its reach.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kermap\u2019s main customer base are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GIS professionals and land managers based in government departments and in academia.
