While that\u2019s still a large amount for a film, it\u2019s definitely smaller than the budget for his 2020 movie <em>Tenet<\/em>, which had a more than $200 million budget. And it\u2019s even more of a difference from the third film in <em>The Dark Knight<\/em> trilogy, which had an estimated $250 million budget.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    But the director doesn\u2019t take any of his resources for granted \u2014\u00a0for <em>Oppenheimer<\/em>, he shortened the shoot from 85 days to 57 to free up more of the budget for production designs and location shooting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cThe U.S. government gave [the Manhattan Project] $2 billion, three to four years and an Army Corps of Engineers to build the original Los Alamos,\u201d production designer Ruth De Jong previously told <em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>. \u201cI had [none of that].\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    The Cillian Murphy-led film, which followed the story of American scientist J.
